Prowlo is a social media data access tool for AI agents, with the core goal of turning public discussions on social platforms such as Reddit and X (Twitter) into structured data that agents can directly read, reason over, and cite. It connects data to clients such as Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and Cline through MCP (Model Context Protocol), and also provides a REST API and Webhook.
In terms of use cases, Prowlo mainly serves lead generation, community research, and social listening. It helps users discover posts on Reddit that describe the problem their product solves, has agents filter out leads worth replying to and draft replies, and the user ultimately publishes them personally.
Main capabilities include:
- Watchers: persistent scraping rules. Users can specify subreddits, Reddit users, Hacker News, Mastodon, RSS, and X accounts to follow, and can optionally set pre-filter rules (such as upvote thresholds, flair, regex). The system scrapes these channels at a fixed frequency and indexes matching records into a Dataset.
- Keyword Monitor: searches all of Reddit for each keyword the user adds (brand, competitor, category phrase), about once per day, writes each match into the Dataset, and tags it. The $19/month plan includes 20 keywords, and the trial version includes 3.
- Community Research: a managed research task. After the user describes their product, Prowlo reads about 1,000 posts and 3,000 comments, reports the communities that are truly suitable for the product, ranks them by tier, and cites each community's self-promotion rules, winning content types, competitor mentions, customer voice, and a 30-day plan. The first run is free for each account, and agents can read it through MCP's research_get.
- Data filtering and semantic search: spam, low-quality posts, bots, and irrelevant noise are automatically discarded. Every retained record generates a vector embedding, so agents can rank and search semantically rather than only by keyword.
- Structured output: records are typed, versioned, schema-stable JSON, including stable IDs, permalinks, authors, and timestamps, making it easy for agents to cite, deduplicate, and trace back. It supports cursor pagination, idempotent reads, and rate-limit response headers, and can resume precisely after an interruption.
In terms of usage, users add the MCP server to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client, tell the agent in one sentence what they sell, and the agent can create Watchers on its own. Data can be read in the Prowlo feed, received as alerts via Slack or Webhook, or queried from Claude via MCP.
Applicable scenarios include: early founders looking for their first users, community marketing lead generation, competitor and brand social listening, and automated workflows that need to provide AI agents with social data access.
In terms of limitations: Prowlo is designed to be read-only. It does not automatically post, automatically comment, or send direct messages. All publishing must be done by the user personally from their own account, always retaining a human review step. The system only scrapes channels the user explicitly specifies; without Watchers, it will not scrape.
Pricing: 14-day free trial, no credit card required; afterward $19/month, or $190/year (equivalent to two months free). The $19/month plan includes 25 Watchers (covering subreddits, Reddit users, Hacker News, Mastodon, RSS, and X, checked once per hour), all-Reddit monitoring for 20 keywords, Dataset semantic search, and MCP + REST + Webhook. There are also Scale and Team tiers for heavier agent workloads.
