About this tool

Purpose

AISStorageDepot MCP is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that connects shared, version-managed team prompt, rule, skill, and document libraries in AIStorageDepot to MCP-enabled AI clients, including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Claude Desktop, Cline, Windsurf, and more. It makes your stored content appear where you actually work.

Main Capabilities

  • Prompts: After you mark an entry as / in the app, it becomes an MCP prompt (slash command)—any type is supported, and each prompt's [fields] become prompt arguments for you to fill in.
  • Resources: Every piece of content (rules, documents, skills, MCP configuration, prompts) can be accessed via aisd://item/<id> reads, so agents can pull "my coding rules" or "my project guidelines" into context on demand.
  • Tools:search_library(query) and get_item(id) let agents programmatically find and fetch anything in the library.

How to Use

Try Without an Account (Sample Mode)

AISD_TOKEN is optional. Run the server without a token and it serves a free read-only sample of the public curated library—a great way to see AIStorageDepot in your editor before you sign up. Add a token later to switch to your own library and team libraries.

Add the server with an empty environment variable (or omit AISD_TOKEN).

👉 The easiest way: step-by-step instructions for each app (including configuration file locations, etc.) are in https://www.aistoragedepot.com/connect。手动版本:

  1. In AIStorageDepot, go to Settings → API tokens to create a token (free for individuals). Copy it.
  2. Add the server to your MCP client configuration. For example (Claude Desktop's claude_desktop_config.json, Cursor's ~/.cursor/mcp.json , etc.):
  3. Restart the client. Entries you marked as / will appear as slash commands; all content is available as resources; thesearch_library / get_item tools are also ready.

Slash Commands (pull)

Not all clients convert MCP prompts into / slash commands (some only use tools). To use the library as native slash commands, you can sync it to command files—works with every AI tool you use, not just Claude:

  • Tools that are not installed are skipped automatically.
  • Each tool uses its own dialect (frontmatter, argument hints, using $ARGUMENTSwhere supported).
  • Skills run as-is. Prompts accept input: their [fields] appear as argument hints, and what you type after the command fills them in—the AI will ask you for any values you missed.
  • Repeated runs are safe: each target only cleans up its own files (Claude: its namespace folder; others: only files with the aisd- prefix—your own commands are never touched).

Use Cases

  • Invoke team prompts, rules, and skills anytime in coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
  • Let agents pull project guidelines or coding rules into context on demand.
  • Let agents programmatically search and fetch team library content via MCP tools.

Limitations

  • v0.1 is read-only: it displays and fetches your content, and does not write back.
  • Library snapshots are cached for about 30 seconds, so burst calls only hit the API once.
  • Tokens can be revoked at any time in Settings → API tokens; the server immediately loses access.
