Heurist Mesh MCP Server is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server used to connect to the Heurist Mesh API, bringing Web3 intelligence capabilities to AI applications. Heurist Mesh is described as a skills marketplace for AI agents: general-purpose AI models lack Web3 expertise and often struggle to produce accurate results, whereas Heurist Mesh provides more than 30 specialized AI agents skilled in crypto analysis, supplementing AI applications with the needed Web3 expertise.
In terms of main capabilities, the server provides access to more than 30 specialized crypto analysis agents; the input and output formats are optimized for AI agents, which can reduce the number of tool calls and lower token usage; it supports both SSE and stdio transports; it can be used with Claude, Cursor, Claude Desktop, and other MCP-compatible interfaces; and it supports accessing multiple services with a single API key, such as CoinGecko, DexScreener, Twitter analysis, and more. In addition, users can create an SSE MCP server through the Heurist Mesh Console, select agents, and combine them into a personalized agent cluster.
In terms of usage, the project requires Python 3.10 or higher, recommends using the UV package manager, and requires obtaining a Heurist API key (the invite code "claude" can be used to claim free credits). The official hosted SSE endpoint is provided at https://mesh.heurist.xyz/mcp/sse,需要认证,API The key can be provided through the X-HEURIST-API-KEY request header (recommended), the Authorization: Bearer <your-api-key> request header, or the api_key query parameter. This endpoint includes tools for recommended agents for comprehensive Web3 intelligence. The official documentation states that this is a shared server and performance may be unstable; for production environments, self-hosting is recommended, or use the Heurist Mesh Console to create a dedicated server. Cursor can directly access the SSE server; Claude Desktop users are advised to install mcp-proxy to connect to the SSE server.
In terms of installation and running, when using UV (recommended), there are two ways: first, run with stdio transport (for Claude Desktop), which requires adding configuration in claude_desktop_config.json, and can also be used with Docker together with Claude Desktop, replacing /path/to/heurist-mesh-mcp-server with the actual repository path and your-api-key-here with the Heurist API key; second, run with SSE transport (for Cursor), then add the MCP server URL in Cursor:http://0.0.0.0:8000/sse。
In terms of available tools, you can access https://mesh.heurist.ai/metadata.json or https://mesh.heurist.ai/console to view all more than 30 available agents and their tools. The server comes with a set of default recommended agents; if you need to modify the available agents, you can open the server.py file, find the Config class, edit the DEFAULT_AGENTS list, and add or remove agents according to those listed in the Heurist Metadata.
Applicable scenarios include: supplementing AI applications with Web3 and crypto analysis capabilities, covering areas such as blockchain analysis, smart contract auditing, token metrics, DeFi analysis, NFT valuation, and transaction monitoring; calling related tools in MCP-compatible clients such as Claude and Cursor; and combining dedicated agent clusters on demand through the Console.
In terms of limitations, the official documentation points out that the hosted SSE endpoint is a shared server and performance may be unstable, so for production environments self-hosting or creating a dedicated server is recommended; usage requires a Heurist API key; and the runtime environment requires Python 3.10 or higher.
