About this tool

Takibi Base (Takibi) is a shared knowledge base for AI agents. Its purpose is to let teams store documents in one place, precisely control which content each agent can read, and return accurate original passages with citations when an agent asks a question.

Uses

  • Provide AI agents with a searchable, citable source of team documents.
  • Divide document access permissions by agent to prevent unauthorized reading.
  • Preserve original text and citations so agents can answer based on evidence.

Main capabilities

  • Document organization: Upload files into projects and folders, and Takibi converts them into Markdown for agent search.
  • File management: Download original files or re-extract text; see whether a file is indexed, converting, or quarantined; export projects in Open Knowledge Format (OKF).
  • Permission control: A Profile stores a tool's keys and document permissions, and you can choose which folders it can read. All keys in the same Profile share these permissions. Folder access permissions automatically include documents added later and indexed; project access permissions also include future folders and documents outside folders, and when enabled Takibi will ask you to confirm this broader access.
  • Retrieval results: Ask questions through the CLI, and Takibi returns matching passages, citations, and an Evidence support score. If no matching evidence is found, no passages are returned. Each passage comes with source text and citations, which agents can use to structure their answers.
  • Access and key management: Open a Profile to manage its keys, view access scope, and review activity; you can rotate or revoke individual keys, or pause the entire Profile.
  • Notes: Agents can record what they tried, what worked, and what to do next. Notes belong to a Profile, and tools using that Profile can refer to them later. You can review, keep, or remove notes, or summarize them into a draft. Notes are stored separately from source documents, and once created have a fixed 30-day lifecycle, expiring even if kept.
  • Tasks and review: You can create tasks in a project with context, an owner, and an optional due date. Agents with task access can claim available work, update their own tasks, attach result links, and submit for review. A workspace owner or an agent with Orchestrator permissions can mark work as Done.

How to use

  • If an agent can run TakiConnect via the bi CLI or by making authenticated HTTP requests to the API. You need to provide it with a scoped key and the skill files or setup instructions it loads. The CLI requires Node.js 20 or higher; a chat interface without tool access cannot connect on its own.
  • Supports uploading PDFs, Word .docx files, Markdown, or plain text from which text can be extracted. Once indexing is complete, the converted text is available to authorized agents. Scanned PDFs need to be OCRed before uploading, and legacy .doc files are not supported. Import with AI can also suggest folders for a batch of Markdown or text files for you to review.

Use cases

  • Teams configure differentiated document access for multiple AI agents.
  • Need agents to answer based on the original text of specified documents and provide citations.
  • Need to retain work notes and task collaboration processes between agents.

Limitations

  • Takibi does not generate answers; it only returns exact passages from documents, citations, and evidence support scores; if there is no matching evidence, it returns empty.
  • Profile keys can only retrieve the text of authorized documents; they cannot upload, edit, or delete documents; source documents are managed by people within the app. Documents that are retained or quarantined are unavailable to agents until their status is resolved.
  • A chat interface without tool access cannot connect on its own.
  • Scanned PDFs require OCR in advance, and legacy .doc is not supported.

Pricing

  • Ember: 18 euros/month, including 2 hired Profiles.
  • Campfire: 52 euros/month, including 8 hired Profiles.
  • Both have the same product tools, with different daily usage quotas. Prices exclude VAT. A 7-day trial is available, checkout requires a credit card, and billing begins after the trial ends unless canceled.
