Purpose FirstResume is mainly used to automate the job application process. After users paste a job description or select a job from a job board, the platform generates a tailored resume for that specific job, drafts cover letters and outreach emails, researches company background, assesses match, and helps prepare for interviews. All changes are presented one by one in an "original text - suggested replacement" format, with reasons for each change, and users can accept, rewrite, or ignore them. How to Use Users first fill in their personal experience and profile, then paste a job description or select a job from the job board. Privacy and data The platform uses PII masking technology to remove names, contact information, and identifiers before documents are sent to AI models, then restores them locally after the results are returned, so AI providers do not receive information that can identify users. Data is stored encrypted in the platform's own controlled database and will not be sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.
Other notes The platform was jointly developed by career development researchers in applied psychology and youth employment. Resumes use a single-column layout and standard section headings, avoiding text boxes, tables, or graphics that could affect parsing, and use real dates in a consistent format. Compatibility analysis shows which keywords from the job description are already reflected in the resume and which are missing.
