Purpose: CoinOpAI MCP is the MCP client layer that lets AI agents purchase Kronos market intelligence through x402 micropayments on the Base network. Kronos is not a buy/sell oracle; it provides calibrated intervals, risk context, decision logs, and verifiable audit records. Paid intelligence is provided by the hosted CoinOpAI x402 endpoint.
Main capabilities: Provides tools such as preflight, trade decision, risk status, signal history, and automated search. The core is an auditable loop: each decision generates a decision_id, and subsequent audits fetch real market prices and give a conclusion, including GOOD_DECISION, BAD_DIRECTION, NOISE, NO_ACTION_TAKEN, PENDING. Forecasts are conformally calibrated 80% price intervals (about 0.80 empirical coverage); directional accuracy backtests at about 51%, and it has not been validated as an independent trading strategy.
How to use: After configuring once, payments are automatically made from a low-balance wallet. The current package is coinopai-mcp@2.2.2, with settlement pinned to @x402/core and @x402/evm 2.11.0. It can be added to ~/.claude/settings.json or the Claude Desktop configuration, and the tools appear automatically after restart. You need to install an EVM wallet, switch to the Base network, and prepare USDC. Payments are protected: signatures are only made to the CoinOpAI receiving wallet, Base mainnet, USDC, no more than $0.15 per transaction, and no more than $10 per session; the environment variables X402_MAX_PRICE_USD and X402_SESSION_BUDGET_USD can only lower the limits. Private keys are stored locally only.
Use cases: Decision support and auditing in experimental automated trading workflows.
Limitations: Decision outputs are probabilistic context and logs, not financial advice; directional bias has not been validated; results vary by individual. The free tool list_tools may include a Lulu Ads sponsored card, while paid tools do not, and result.sponsored can be deleted. When the audit window is not yet mature, it returns pending_window. If a symbol is unavailable, you need to change the symbol or wait 15 minutes.
