Purpose
dokimo-mcp is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server whose goal is to expose Dokimo's trustless evidence verification capability as tools to any MCP client (such as Claude Desktop, IDE agents, custom agents), enabling one AI agent to verify another agent's revenue claims.
Main capabilities
It provides Dokimo's "trustless evidence verification" toolset. The verification logic includes two necessary conditions:
- The (leaf, proof_path) provided by the caller must, after recomputation, yield the declared root;
- The combined commitment of (root, rule_version_commitment) must already be anchored on-chain.
If even a single byte is tampered with, the recomputation will fail; if the rule version is replaced, the commitment changes accordingly and the on-chain anchoring is no longer satisfied. Therefore there is no path to obtaining verified: true that bypasses these two steps. This verification model corresponds to the positioning of "agent auditing agent."
Usage
Using it as an MCP client: in Claude Desktop, it needs to be added to claude_desktop_config.json; if dokimo-mcp is not in PATH, use the module form to invoke it. The agent can then be asked to execute:
- "Use Dokimo to verify this evidence package" (paste an evidence package)
- "recompute this Merkle root and tell me if it matches"
Hosted / HTTP mode: the default transport is stdio (for local use). After setting MCP_TRANSPORT=http, it will be served at /mcp on $PORT (default 8081) in MCP Streamable HTTP form, with CORS—this is the form required by hosted platforms such as Smithery. The Dockerfile and smithery.yaml (runtime: container) included in the repository are prepared precisely for this; Smithery can build and host directly from this repository.
Applicable scenarios
Suitable for scenarios that need to verify the authenticity of AI agent revenue claims, especially forpayment scenarios in autonomous commerce (x402 / AP2 / Stripe). Dokimo is positioned as "verifiable revenue infrastructure for autonomous commerce," providing auditable, independently reproducible ledgers for AI agent machine payments, where every number is submitted in a tamper-proof manner and anchored on-chain.
Limitations
Honest boundaries: this tool can only prove that a reported number is reproducible and tamper-proof relative to the on-chain anchoring; it cannot prove that any underlying business number is "good." It is non-custodial and only reads public on-chain state. This repository is a lightweight, self-contained client: it calls Dokimo's public endpoints and implements the public dokimo-merkle-v1 hashing scheme, contains no proprietary code, and is licensed under MIT.
