Purpose
Trade It MCP Server is used to connect stock, cryptocurrency, and options trading capabilities to AI agents. It enables agents to interact with connected brokerages in natural language, execute trades, query portfolio performance, and obtain market information. This server is a remote service, and nothing needs to be run locally.
Main Capabilities
- Asset Search: Find stocks or cryptocurrencies by ticker symbol or name, returning price, symbol, exchange, asset type, and related metadata. For example, it supports queries such as "TSLA", "Tesla", and "bitcoin".
- Account Query: List all connected brokerage accounts, returning fields such as id, name, brokerage, balance, and available_cash. It is also used in the process of connecting a new brokerage.
- Create Trade Draft: Create draft orders for stocks or cryptocurrencies, supporting example forms such as market orders, limit orders, stop orders, and conditional orders (such as "buy when the stock price falls to a specified price", "buy on a breakout above a certain price and set a maximum payment price", "limit sell", etc.).
- Create Options Trade Draft: Support single-leg or multi-leg options orders (spreads, straddles, etc.), following the OCC options symbol format.
- Execute Trade: After the user reviews the draft and explicitly confirms, send the draft to the brokerage for execution, returning a status of "placed" or "failed" (including error details).
How to Use
- At https://tradeit.app create an account.
- Sign up for a free trial of the Pro plan.
- Connect the brokerage of your choice.
- Connect the MCP client to https://mcp.tradeit.app/mcp(Streamable HTTP) or https://mcp.tradeit.app/sse(SSE)。
- Complete authentication through the browser OAuth flow, and then you can start trading.
If the user does not provide an amount, account, or order type, Trade It will apply its default amount, default account, and the applicable market order. If auto-execution is enabled in the Trade It settings, some configurations may skip the manual execution step; if in doubt, execution should still be treated as requiring user confirmation.
Security Model (Draft First)
Trades are first created as draft orders and will not be sent to the brokerage until the user explicitly confirms. After creating a draft (create_trade or create_options_trade), a draft with a trade_id is returned; only when the user explicitly requests execution, confirmation, or placing the order should execute_trade be called. Do not automatically or immediately call execute_trade after creating a draft, do not call it without displaying the order details, and do not call it when the status is not "draft".
Applicable Scenarios
- The agent creates stock/cryptocurrency/options trade drafts based on natural language instructions.
- Query account balances and available funds.
- Query asset quotes and basic information.
- Execute trades with user confirmation for each trade.
Limitations and Risks
- Investing involves risk, and you may lose your principal.
- Trade It is not a financial advisor and does not provide investment advice.
- Options involve significant risk and are not suitable for all investors.
- Trade It cannot withdraw funds, transfer assets, or custody assets; it can only place orders through connected brokerages.
- The brokerage support list mentioned in the text (Robinhood, E*Trade, Coinbase, Kraken, etc.) and the description "more coming soon" come from the materials, but the complete support list is not listed one by one in the given text; the specific details are subject to official materials.
OCC Options Symbol Format
The format is: YYMMDD + C or P + 8-digit strike price (strike price × 1000, left-padded with zeros). For example, $250 → 00250000; $50.50 → 00050500.
