Prefect

AI agents

Prefect is a platform for orchestrating data, machine learning, and AI agent workflows, with its core based on the open-source Prefect framework. Developers only need to add the @flow decorator to a Python function to gain state tracking, logging, and automatic retries. It can replace fragile cron jobs, support automatic retries on failure, on-demand scaling, and task tracking, and provide a unified interface to view run status across teams and infrastructure. Prefect also provides the open-source FastMCP framework and FastMCP Gateway for building MCP servers to connect AI agents to various tools and data. It supports managed compute, your own VPC, or a hybrid deployment of both, and the company says the enterprise edition provides a 30-minute response SLA.

Project Oscar

AI agents

Oscar is an open-source contributor agent architecture under the Go project, designed to reduce the tedious work in open-source maintenance through automated agents. It uses large language models to perform semantic analysis on natural language (such as issue reports and maintainer instructions) and converts natural language instructions into program code, but the core actions are still executed by deterministic code. Oscar does not attempt to replace or enhance the code-writing process, but instead focuses on handling incoming issues, matching existing documentation, analyzing issue reports and change lists, and other uninteresting tasks. Its first prototype, the @gabyhelp bot, has already successfully interacted in the Go issue tracker. Specific goals include: reducing the effort maintainers spend resolving issues, CL/PRs, and forum questions, and enabling more people to become efficient maintainers. Three key capabilities have been identified: indexing and presenting relevant project context, controlling deterministic tools with natural language, and analyzing issue reports in real time to improve and classify them. Oscar is an experimental project, currently hosted by the Go project, and may become independent in the future.
