ScreenshotRender is a web screenshot API service. Its core purpose is to enable developers and AI agents to obtain pixel-perfect screenshots of any URL through a single API call. It uses a real Chromium browser to render pages, waits for JavaScript, fonts, and lazy-loaded images to fully load, and then returns high-quality PNG, JPEG, or WebP images.
Main capabilities
- Real browser rendering: Launches a real Chromium browser in the background and waits for the page to fully render, including JavaScript execution, font loading, and lazy-loaded images.
- Automatic UI cleanup: Automatically removes cookie consent banners, live chat widgets, ad overlays, and GDPR pop-ups before each screenshot, and also supports custom hidden elements, outputting clean screenshots that require no manual editing.
- Bypassing anti-bot mechanisms: Stealth Mode uses a real user agent and browser fingerprint, and can bypass common anti-bot measures such as Cloudflare challenges, CAPTCHAs, and fingerprint detection, thereby capturing the real page content.
- Flexible output control: Supports PNG, JPEG, and WebP formats, allows custom viewport width and height, device scale factor (up to 3x Retina), desktop or mobile emulation, and supports injecting custom CSS.
- Full-page screenshots: The full_page parameter can capture the entire scrollable page, no matter how long it is.
- Caching and edge distribution: Screenshots are cached through the CDN and returned instantly on cache hits; only uncached unique screenshot combinations count toward the quota.
- Signed links: Paid plans support generating signed expiring URLs to protect screenshot access.
How to use Simply send a GET or POST request to the REST endpoint with the target URL to get the rendered image. No need to install an SDK, Puppeteer, or Playwright, and no need to manage a headless browser yourself. After registering, you can get the API key on the Settings page of the Dashboard, and it can be regenerated at any time.
Use cases
- Provide clean web screenshots for AI agents.
- Generate social media preview cards (Open Graph images) and Twitter card images.
- Create visual website archives and link preview thumbnails.
- Automated QA testing and PDF report generation.
- Through Zapier, Make, n8n, Airtable, Bubble, and other no-code platforms, screenshot automation can be achieved without programming.
Limitations and notes
- Full-page screenshots require explicitly passing the full_page parameter; by default, only the visible viewport is captured.
- Only screenshots that render successfully (with no HTTP, browser, or network errors) and are not returned from cache count toward the quota.
- Usage exceeding the plan quota is automatically topped up with additional charges: Starter plan $0.007 per extra screenshot, Growth plan $0.005, Business plan $0.004.
- The free plan includes 100 screenshots and 40 requests per minute, with no credit card required; paid plans provide 2,000, 10,000, and 50,000 screenshots respectively, with corresponding rates.
- Subscriptions and payments are handled by Stripe, and the service provider does not store card information; you can cancel the subscription at any time on the Subscription page, and within 30 days you can email support@screenshotrender.com to request a full refund.
- Email notifications are sent when 90% and 100% of the monthly quota are reached, and these can be turned on or off yourself.
