Sketch2scheme is an AI-driven diagram conversion tool whose core purpose is to turn hand-drawn diagrams on paper or a whiteboard into editable digital diagrams. Users can take a photo with a phone, upload an image, or paste a screenshot, and the AI will recognize the boxes, symbols, connectors, and labels in the image within 10–60 seconds and redraw them according to the user's original layout rather than rearranging them, so the result still looks like the original sketch but is cleaner and editable.
In terms of main capabilities, it supports multiple diagram types: flowcharts and process mapping, wiring diagrams and circuits, floor plans and room layouts, organizational charts and family trees, mind maps, software and network architecture diagrams, sequence diagrams, and Venn diagrams. The medium can be paper, a whiteboard, a notebook, or a tablet. For wiring diagrams and circuits, it uses draw.io's electrical symbol library to draw components, with corresponding symbols for fuses, circuit breakers, switches, relays, motors, lights, resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, transformers, terminals, busbars, and grounding, among others. Ratings such as 10A, 24V, and 6mm², voltages, and wire gauges are preserved next to the corresponding parts, wires are routed at right angles, and nodes are shown at connection points.
Usage is divided into three steps: first, photograph or upload, using a phone to take a photo, upload an image, or paste a screenshot, and rotate if necessary; second, AI redraws, placing each box, symbol, line, and label within 10–60 seconds; third, edit and export, correcting content in the built-in diagram editor, then downloading a PNG, SVG, or .drawio file. PNGs remain editable in draw.io; PDF or Visio can also be exported via diagrams.net, or saved to Google Drive. The editor supports moving shapes, modifying text, and adding connectors. It can also be used on mobile, but a larger screen is better suited for detailed editing.
Applicable scenarios include: digitizing flowcharts from whiteboard discussions, organizing electrician sketches into circuit diagrams that can be archived or shared with an electrician, converting floor plans or room layouts into editable files, organizing organizational charts, family trees, mind maps, network architecture diagrams, and more.
Limitations and notes: ordinary images, forms, and unstructured text are not considered diagrams, and the system will prompt this without consuming credits. The AI may misread connections, and the official guidance explicitly warns that the result must be checked against the original sketch before wiring; the diagram is a drawing aid, not electrical design. Regarding credits, one conversion consumes one credit; if conversion fails or the image is not a diagram, the credit is automatically refunded. Credit packs never expire; Pro provides 60 diagrams per month, is used before credit packs, resets monthly, does not roll over unused credits, and can be canceled at any time while remaining valid until the end of the paid period.Refunds can be requested within 7 days after purchase. Users can delete any diagram from history, or delete their account in account settings to remove diagrams and uploaded images. Diagrams generated by the old engine remain in history and can be reconverted with one click to obtain a new editable version. Team plans and API access require contacting by email.
