Reviu

Reviu is a native desktop application designed for reviewing code written by AI coding agents. It can launch command-line agents from the ACP registry that you have already installed and logged into, such as Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini, letting you watch the agent's running status in real time in a local session, review the code diffs it produces line by line, and merge your revision feedback into a single prompt sent back to the agent via inline comments. Once confirmed correct, you can perform real Git operations such as staging, rebasing, committing, and pushing directly within Reviu. Reviu is built with Rust and GPUI, does not depend on Electron or a webview, runs agents as local processes, and keeps code and data on your machine by default. Local agent sessions, local diff review, inline comments, parallel worktrees, and local Git workflows are all free; the paid Reviu Pro tier adds GitHub integration, including a pull request dock, GitHub review comments, checks, merge operations, and a notification inbox. Pro offers a 14-day free trial. Reviu does not meter agent usage or require pasting API keys, and works with your existing CLI subscription.

About this tool

Reviu is a native desktop application for reviewing code written by AI agents, with the core goal of completing review of the agent's work before code is committed and finishing with real Git.

Purpose

Reviu is aimed at developers who use coding agents: launch Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, or other ACP registry agents, observe the session, review every diff, send inline comments back to the agent, and then stage, rebase, commit, and open a PR without leaving Reviu.

Main capabilities

  • Agent session management: each task becomes a persistent session rather than a one-off conversation, with its own conversation, branch, terminal, checkpoints, file edits, and review queue; switching sessions does not stop a running agent.
  • Support for agents from the official Agent Client Protocol registry: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Copilot, Cline, and about twenty others. Reviu drives the CLI you have already installed and logged into, agents run on your existing subscription, and no API key pasting is required.
  • Local diff review and inline comments: review local diffs, leave line comments, and merge the comments into a single prompt sent back to the agent; comments include file, line, and side context.
  • Parallel worktrees: support isolated worktrees so parallel agent tasks do not pollute the main checkout directory; run multiple agents at the same time without letting one task dirty another checkout.
  • Attention status: see which tasks are running, waiting, failed, or ready for review.
  • Local Git operations: stage trusted hunks, unstage to review again, and revert the rest; support squashing, fixups, discarding, and reordering commits; support resolving conflicts, continuing a rebase, stashing work, cherry-picking, and undoing mistakes; perform commits, amendments, pushes, rebases, and stashes in a keyboard-first way via the command palette.
  • GitHub integration (Pro): a pull request dock with checks and merges; after checking out a branch, Reviu will find its PR or help create one from the head; open PR files in the editor and comment inline, reply to threads, and submit a full review; support squashing, merging, or rebasing the GitHub way, using GitHub-generated titles, messages, bullet points, and trailers.
  • Browser extension (Pro): add "Open in Reviu" to GitHub pull requests, open branches locally for diff review, documentation, and terminal operations.
  • Notification inbox (Pro).
  • Local-first: your code and agent processes stay on your machine; local sessions and all local Git features require no account, and login is only required for Reviu Pro's GitHub integration.
  • Native performance: built with the Rust-based GPU-accelerated UI framework gpui.rs, no Electron, no webview.

How to use

  1. Download and install Reviu (macOS supports Apple Silicon and Intel, Windows offers native builds for x64 and ARM64, Linux can be installed via the installation command in the download section). Local sessions require no account.
  2. Open a repository and run the agent CLI you have already installed and logged in to.
  3. The agent starts working in its own branch or worktree; you review the local diff before committing.
  4. Through inline comments, merge your revision feedback into a single prompt and send it back to the agent.
  5. After the agent makes the changes, stage, rebase, push, and open a PR. Reviu's review loop is summarized as: one task, one path - the agent starts working, you review, send back revisions, and deliver cleanly.

Suitable scenarios

  • Developers who use coding agents locally and need to review their diffs and finish branch wrap-up with local Git.
  • Developers whose local agent work ultimately needs to go to GitHub pull request review and merge (requires Reviu Pro).
  • Scenarios where multiple agent tasks are run simultaneously and you want isolation with parallel worktrees.

Pricing and limitations

  • Local agent review, local diff review, sending back inline comments, parallel worktrees, and local Git workflows are free.
  • Reviu Pro is a paid tier that adds the GitHub pull request dock, GitHub review comments, checks, merge actions, notifications, and a browser extension; it offers a 14-day free trial and can be canceled at any time.
  • Reviu does not meter agent usage and works with your existing CLI subscription.
  • Mobile and SSH remote workflows are planned for the future.
  • Official materials do not provide specific pricing figures, the specific contents of installation commands for each platform, or more detailed system requirements.
