Sequence is a calm to-do app built specifically for ADHD and neurodiverse families. Its core idea is: the ADHD brain does not need more "productivity hacks"; it needs simplicity, structure, and immediate feedback. That is why Sequence does not show a list of forty to-dos, but instead highlights only one "next thing" (Up Next) at a time, and when it is completed, the next item automatically rises, avoiding paralysis or anxiety from seeing a large number of tasks.
Main capabilities and design features:
- Single highlighted card: tells you only the one thing to do now, and automatically switches after you complete or postpone it.
- Family swimlanes: each family member has their own colored swimlane, and shared chores are in the green Together swimlane, ensuring responsibilities are visible.
- Shame-free triggers: no red "overdue" markers, no streaks, no nagging; missed tasks are quietly resorted.
- Family TV display: the whole family's task flow can be cast to a TV or tablet, serving as a shared, at-a-glance "external brain."
- Recurring tasks: rent, medication, taking out the trash, and more can appear automatically on schedule, and after completion they do not interfere with the current view.
- Multi-device sync: usable on phone, iPad, laptop, and family TV, and after installation it works like an app, always staying in sync.
How to use it:
- Create a family and invite members; each person gets an independent swimlane and color.
- Dump in all tasks, no need to organize; tasks are arranged in the order they were added.
- Drag cards to adjust the order when needed, putting important things first.
- Open Sequence, see one card, focus on completing it, and repeat.
- Tasks that cannot be done right now can be postponed (snooze); they temporarily disappear until they become relevant again, preventing "later" from interfering with "now."
AI integration: Sequence can be connected to existing AI tools, and with natural language you can say "add this" or "what's next today?", and tasks will enter the list. Currently it supports key-based tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and OpenAI API; ChatGPT and the Claude chat app will be supported after the login flow launches. The connection can be turned off at any time, and users remain in control.
Use cases: Suitable for ADHD or neurodiverse families managing daily chores, shared tasks, and recurring items, reducing planning burden and unspoken expectations within the family; also suitable for any user who wants to reduce mental load with "one thing at a time."
Pricing and limitations: A 14-day free trial is provided, no credit card required. The official version has only one plan, covering the whole family, with no tierspricing, and no per-person billing. It includes unlimited tasks, the Together swimlane, multi-device and TV display, recurring tasks, and gentle reminders, and offers a 30-day no-questions-asked refund. Specific pricing is not yet provided.
