Tana is an agentic meeting platform, positioned as a tool for "getting work done during the meeting" rather than organizing notes after the meeting. It is aimed at AI-native teams that build products rather than make slide decks, and supports working in calls hosted on Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or Tana. Tana captures calls locally from your own machine, does not join meetings as a participant, and does not require a bot.
[Main Capabilities] Tana does not take notes; it completes actual tasks during your call: capturing call content, filing issues, drafting emails, updating the CRM, recording decisions, and assigning owners. It remembers what each person committed to. Specific capabilities include:
- Answering questions during the call, without you having to look them up afterward;
- Filing issues directly into your tracking tools (such as Linear, Jira, GitHub);
- Drafting PRDs, slides, storyboards, customer journeys, and strategy outlines based on the discussion;
- Updating CRM fields, drafting investment memos, recording decisions, and queuing follow-ups;
- Capturing account notes, flagging renewal risks, and assigning follow-up owners for customer success teams;
- Updating the CRM, drafting follow-up emails, and organizing discovery insights for sales teams.
[Knowledge Graph] Everything produced in each call goes into a unified and interconnected knowledge graph: customers, decisions, issues, people. Content is updated rather than duplicated. Access permissions follow who was present. Teams can ask questions instead of pinging each other, and the agent reads the same context as the team. For example, asking "What did we decide about SSO?" returns the decision, the owner, the reason, and the source call.
[How to Use] Start a call from the desktop app, or let Tana run in Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet. Tana captures the call locally and does not join the participant list. Tana makes suggestions, and people decide: every question, email, CRM update, and decision appears as a proposal that can be accepted, edited, or rejected during or after the call. Changes to existing knowledge are shown as a diff before being applied.
[Integrations] Issues can be filed to Linear, Jira, or GitHub; deal notes to HubSpot; updates to Slack; invitations to Google Calendar or Outlook; follow-up emails are drafted and sent by you. Coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor can read through MCPSame context taken, plus a public API. An MCP server and public API are also available, allowing export of everything.
[Security and Compliance] Your data is not trained on. Meeting content is not used to train any model. SOC 2 and GDPR compliant, HIPAA in progress (expected Q1 2027). Access limited to only the people you specify: meetings are visible to participants unless shared further; spaces provide more granular control. Supports SSO and granular access. Continuous penetration testing, Microsoft app validated.
[Use Cases]
- Product and engineering teams: submit issues, draft PRDs, record decisions, and share user insights during standups, design reviews, and customer calls.
- Consultants and advisors: update client briefs, draft slides, build prototypes, research, all while talking with clients.
- VCs and investors: update CRM, write investment memos, record decisions, draft follow-ups.
- Creative teams: draft storyboards, capture client feedback, map customer journeys, outline strategy.
- Founders: draft investor updates, hiring loops, board preparation.
- Customer success: capture account notes, flag renewal risks, record follow-ups, update owners.
- Sales: update CRM, draft follow-ups, record discovery insights, queue next steps.
[Limitations and Notes] Tana and Tana Outliner (a note outliner tool located at outliner.tana.inc, with Supertags, nodes) are different products. Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 integrations are coming soon. HIPAA is expected Q1 2027. Tana does not make decisions on its own; all outputs are proposals that require human acceptance. It does not join participant lists and does not train on data.
