SnapDub is an AI short video automatic editing tool for content creators, podcasters, and streamers. Its core purpose is to quickly transform long videos (livestreams, podcasts, interviews, etc.) into vertical short videos suitable for social media publishing.
Purpose and Core Workflow
Users only need to paste a video link (supporting YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Rumble, Zoom) or upload a video file, and SnapDub will automatically analyze it and return a batch of vertical 9:16 clips. Each clip is already cropped to the speaker, has word-by-word subtitles added, and generates a title, description, and hashtags, and can be published directly or downloaded in bulk. Users can also connect a channel so that newly uploaded videos automatically enter the editing workflow.
Main Capabilities
- Multimodal highlight clip detection: SnapDub not only analyzes transcripts but also scores clips through visual and audio signals (facial expressions, emotions, gestures, screen actions, laughter, crowd noise, etc.), thereby finding moments that transcripts cannot reflect. It claims to always run on the latest AI models.
- Complete clip editing: Each clip comes with extra footage before and after, allowing users to drag the in and out points, correct transcription errors, switch among 30 subtitle styles, adjust title appearance, lower clip volume, or add animated emojis, images, GIFs, or video overlays to the frame. Adjustments affect only a single clip, with no need to rebuild the entire batch.
- Batch output and consistency: Template-based rendering ensures that the 30th clip looks consistent with the 1st clip. It supports managing templates for multiple shows or clients at the same time, switching via a dropdown menu.
- Automatic publishing: Connect publishing channels and set publishing time slots. New clips will automatically fill idle slots and mix clips from different sources, avoiding a week of content looking like slices from the same video. It supports direct publishing to seven platforms.
- Other features: Topic-aware clip detection, word-by-word karaoke subtitles (including keyword highlighting), optional voice clone dubbing and lip sync (Beta), keyword clip search, AI-generated titles/descriptions/hashtags, automatic 9:16 reframing, and editing by time period (for example, editing only one good hour from a four-hour livestream). It can also recommend three royalty-free assets based on clip content, but the user must manually choose to add them.
How to Use
After registering, users can start for free with no credit card required. After uploading a video or pasting a link, SnapDub automatically processes it and sends an email notification. Users can adjust clips in the editor, then publish or download directly. It supports uploading already-edited clips and applying a unifiedOne template and add a publishing schedule; such clips do not consume credits.
Use cases
- Podcasters, streamers, and talk show producers quickly turn long content into short videos.
- Social media operators mass-produce vertical content for multiple clients or shows.
- Content teams that need a unified visual style and scheduled publishing.
- Creators who want to use AI voiceover and lip sync for multilingual distribution.
Limitations and notes
- The free tier adds a SnapDub watermark; paid plans are watermark-free, and you can replace it with your own logo using the brand kit.
- Voiceover and lip sync are Beta features, off by default, and voice quality may vary.
- Translation supports 16 major languages, most with optional AI voiceover.
- Credits are used for tasks that actually run: pricing is based on the source video's minutes plus each clip; subtitles are cheaper, while translation, AI voiceover, and lip sync are more expensive because they consume more GPU time. A typical 10-minute video cut into 6 subtitled clips consumes about 140 credits. Failed tasks refund credits.
- Free sign-up gives 500 credits, enough to process one full video, with no trial countdown.
- Media files are stored in encrypted object storage and are used only to generate clips; they are not sold or used to train third-party models.
- SnapDub is not a clip campaign marketplace, does not look for campaigns, and is not affiliated with any campaign; it only provides clip tools.
- You can manage, switch, or cancel your subscription at any time from the billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
