Purpose
crypto-rss-mcp is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server used to aggregate real-time cryptocurrency news from multiple RSS sources, helping AI agents make smarter decisions in a rapidly changing market.
Main Capabilities
- Source fetching: Fetch the latest entries from specified RSS sources and format them as Markdown with plain-text summaries.

Usage
Environment Requirements
- Python: version 3.10.
- uv: a package and dependency manager for Python projects.
Installation Steps
- Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/kukapay/crypto-rss-mcp.git cd crypto-rss-mcp - Install dependencies: use uv to add the required dependencies:
uv sync
Run the Server
Start the FastMCP server in development mode.
Install to Claude Desktop
Install the server as a Claude Desktop application and provide the configuration file as a reference.

- List available RSS sources: List the available RSS sources from the OPML file, optionally filtered by keyword.
keyword(string, optional): filter sources whose description or category contains this keyword (case-insensitive).opml_file(string, optional): local OPML file path (defaults to "RAW.opml").- Example: List available cryptocurrency RSS sources.
- Read RSS source: Fetch and format the latest 10 entries from the specified RSS source as Markdown.
