Chat4Data: Extract Any Web Data with Ease

Open website

About this tool

Chat4Data is an AI-powered Chrome browser extension, positioned as the "ChatGPT for web scraping," designed to help users extract structured data from any web page through natural language conversation. It is suitable for users without a programming background who need to collect web page information, such as obtaining data from e-commerce platforms, news websites, real estate listings, recruitment websites, directory pages, and education portals and other HTML pages.

Main capabilities

  • Natural language scraping: Users describe the data they need in simple English, and Chat4Data explores the page and extracts the specified fields, automatically handling pagination and click actions.
  • Page understanding and adaptation: It understands both the visual appearance and code structure of the page, and can continue to find the correct data even if the layout changes or the code is updated.
  • Multi-type data extraction: It can capture images, links, email addresses, phone numbers, and even hidden elements, without missing important information.
  • Output formats: Supports export to Excel, CSV, or JSON for direct use.
  • Human intervention mechanism: When encountering login, CAPTCHA, or identity verification, the extension pauses and prompts the user to complete it manually, then continues from the breakpoint, avoiding wasted run counts or bad data.
  • Anti-blocking strategy: Simulates human browsing behavior (clicks, scrolling, pauses) to reduce the probability of being blocked by anti-scraping systems.
  • Content filtering: Automatically filters out irrelevant content such as ads, navigation menus, and sidebars. Users can also use natural language to request ignoring specific areas or scraping only the main list.
  • Field adjustment: Add/remove fields, correct results, and adjust scope through conversation, using a four-step confirmation process (target area -> fields -> data volume -> final confirmation).
  • Privacy protection: All data scraping is performed locally in the Chrome browser. The official claim is that it does not view, store, or touch user data, and login credentials are not accessed.

How to use

  1. Download and install the Chat4Data extension from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Register for a free Chat4Data account and log in.
  3. Enable the extension on the target website and start scraping by describing your needs through chat.

Applicable scenarios

  • E-commerce product information collection (such as Amazon products)
  • Google Maps business data extraction
  • YouTube video information collection
  • Data organization for news, real estate, recruitment, directory, education, and other websites
  • Protected pages that require login to access

Limitations and notes

  • Currently mainly supports HTML websites. Optimization may be insufficient for some special websites, and users can report them to the official team for targeted adjustments.
  • Within a single chat, cross-multiplescraping of different websites or multiple URL lists on the same website is not currently supported. The official team says this feature will be supported in the future.
  • During scraping, the browser tab must remain open.
  • Credit consumption: New users receive 100 free credits (enough to scrape about 2-3 websites), after which billing is at 1 USD/100 credits. Registration grants 300 credits, and for the first 3 login days it refreshes to 300 credits each day (limited-time event). The monthly Pro subscription includes 2,000 credits per month, and Max includes 8,000 credits per month; Max users can additionally purchase credits (1 USD = 100 credits, valid for 1 year, non-refundable). Credits are consumed based on web page complexity. For example, Amazon product scraping costs about 120-200 credits, Google Maps scraping costs about 40-80 credits, and YouTube video scraping costs about 120-180 credits. Inviting friends can earn unlimited free credits through the referral program.
  • Export formats are CSV or Excel (.xlsx). JSON export is not currently provided (although JSON is mentioned in the description, the FAQ lists only CSV and Excel).
  • If you encounter the "something went wrong" error, you can try re-analyzing, refreshing the page, checking the network, or restarting the extension.

The above information all comes from the official page. Details not provided (such as specific price changes, complete platform compatibility, etc.) have not yet been stated.
