About this tool

kiprio-mcp is an open-source MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that exposes the kiprio.com developer API as tools to Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Cline, Continue, and other MCP-compatible clients. It provides 27 production-grade API tools, covering email and phone validation, geocoding, time zone conversion, DNS/WHOIS lookups, SSL certificate checks, web scraping, natural language processing, and a variety of developer utilities. No third-party API key is required, and it includes a free tier.

Main capabilities

The tools are divided into several categories by purpose:

  • Email and validation: validate_email checks syntax, MX records, and a disposable domain list to determine whether an email address is deliverable; it also provides phone validation, IBAN validation, and more.
  • Location and time: provides geocoding, time zone conversion, and tools related to location and time such as business day calculation.
  • Text processing: supports text redaction (redact_text), which can replace emails, phone numbers, names, and card numbers with [REDACTED_TYPE], making it suitable for removing personally identifiable information (PII) before sending support transcripts; it also includes other NLP capabilities.
  • Developer utilities: tech_stack returns the CMS, CDN, analytics tools, and payment providers used by a target website; ssl_check returns the SSL certificate's expiration date, issuer, and rating; screenshot_url returns a base64 PNG screenshot that Claude can analyze directly; it also includes hash calculation, DNS lookup, WHOIS lookup, web scraping, and more.

How to use

No installation is required; it can be run directly from PyPI with uv, or installed with pip:

uvx kiprio-mcp

Or:

pip install kiprio-mcp

In Claude Code, it can be added to a project in one step, or manually added to the MCP configuration of ~/.claude.json, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, and Zed. If installed via pip, use "command": "kiprio-mcp" with no arguments.

Cline (VS Code): open Cline → MCP Servers → Add Server → paste the configuration.

Continue.dev: add the configuration under mcpServers in ~/.continue/config.json.

Getting a free API key takes about 30 seconds. The anonymous tier is limited to 50–100 requests per tool per day, which is suitable for one-off queries but is easily exhausted in automated workflows. After registering for a free key, you get 100 requests per tool per day, at zero cost, with no credit card and no trial period; the registration address is kiprio.com/signup.

Once connected, you can ask Claude questions in natural language, for example:

  • "Is noreply@company.io a real deliverable address?" → validate_email checks syntax, MX records, and a disposable domain list
  • "What tech stack is stripe.com running?" → tech_stack returns the CMS, CDN, analytics, and payment providers
  • "Take a screenshot of this landing page and flag any broken layout." → screenshot_url returns a base64 PNG that Claude can analyze directly
  • "Redact all PII from this support transcript before I send it to Zendesk." → redact_text replaces emails, phone numbers, names, and card numbers with [REDACTED_TYPE]
  • "Check the SSL certificate on api.example.com — is it expiring soon?" → ssl_check returns the expiration date, issuer, and rating

Use cases

kiprio-mcp's tools are designed for pipelines and hooks, not just one-off queries. Common patterns include: email validation before accepting sign-ups; domain monitoring hooks (Claude Code slash commands); lead enrichment agents; content moderation pipelines. These patterns can run within the free key tier (100 requests per tool per day). PThe ro tier (1,000 requests per day) can handle larger batches.

Scenarios suitable for upgrading to Pro: batch processing, such as validating 500 email addresses, enriching CSVs, running link audits; scheduled agents, such as Claude Code hooks triggered on each commit or cron job; team workspaces, where multiple developers share one configuration; production scripts, such as slash commands that run on every file save or PR. The upgrade address is kiprio.com.

Limits and caveats

  • The anonymous tier is rate-limited to 50–100 requests per tool per day, a free registered key allows 100 requests per tool per day, and the Pro tier allows 1,000 per day.
  • Common issues: when "kiprio-mcp: command not found" or "spawn kiprio-mcp ENOENT" appears, it means the bare command only exists after a pip install; you can instead use "command": "uvx", "args": ["kiprio-mcp"] (no installation required), or point to the full path in the virtual environment.
  • 429 Rate limit exceeded: you have hit the free anonymous tier limit; registering gives you 100 free requests per day, or upgrade to Pro for 1,000 per day.
  • 401/403 errors: invalid API key. Leaving KIPRIO_API_KEY empty lets you use the anonymous tier (30 requests per day).

The project uses the MIT license, is maintained by ForeverTools, and the API is provided by kiprio.com. The repository address is github.com/ForeverTools/kiprio-mcp.

Regarding the specific number of tools, there are discrepancies across different descriptions (27 production API tools); this article takes the "27" explicitly mentioned in the materials as authoritative; the specific names, parameters, and return formats of some tools are not fully provided in the materials and are therefore not provided for now.
