mcp-server-chatsum is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for querying and summarizing chat messages. According to the project description, it provides the function of querying chat messages: it can query chat messages according to given parameters and summarize the chat messages based on a query prompt.
Usage: Before starting, you need to enter the chatbot directory, set up the chat database according to that directory's README, and start chatbot to save chat messages. After that, create a .env file in the project root directory, set the chat database path, and then install dependencies and build the server. During development, you can use automatic rebuild mode.
To use it with Claude Desktop, you need to add a server configuration. The configuration file is located at ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json on MacOS and at %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json on Windows. Because the MCP server communicates via stdio, debugging may be more difficult, so MCP Inspector is recommended; it is provided as a package script and will give a URL so you can access the debugging tools in a browser.
