Purpose
This page explains Gong's plans and seats system, helping technical admins choose plans for their organization, purchase the core license and add-on applications, and manage seat assignments. The intended audience is technical admins, and it applies to any Gong plan.
Key capabilities
- Purchasing plans: Perform this in Admin center > Settings > General settings > Licenses and seats. After purchasing the Gong Foundation platform core license, you can add professional applications: Enable Essentials, Forecast Essentials, Gong Forecast, Gong Engage, Data Cloud.
- Seat assignment: Assign seats to team members in Admin center > Settings > People > Team members. The page displays the number of active members, enabled data capture capabilities, and seat usage for each core license and application. Members without an assigned seat are called Collaborators, with limited permissions and free of charge. You can assign seats to multiple members at once.
- Purchasing additional seats: Use the Get more seats action in the panel, select the number of core license seats and application seats, and check out. New seats can be used immediately, charges are prorated through the end of the subscription term, and the invoice is sent to the billing contact's email within 2-3 days.
- Adding seats after renewal: After renewal, the company transitions to the new plan model. Gong will provide enough seats to maintain current functionality, but seats added after renewal must be paid for separately.
How to use
- Purchase the core license and required applications in Licenses and seats.
- In Team members, click a member's name to open the right-side panel, and under Seats enable the required seats.
- If you need to purchase more seats, click Get more seats, select the quantity, and complete checkout.
- Seats added after renewal must be purchased separately; to maintain existing functionality, you may need to purchase both core license and application seats.
