About this tool

LiveTranslate is a browser-based AI simultaneous interpretation tool that requires no software installation or configuration. Just open the webpage and authorize your microphone to begin real-time translation. It translates continuously while a person is speaking, rather than waiting for them to finish a sentence, and displays real-time captions at the same time.

【Key Capabilities】

  • Real-time speech translation: Automatically detects the speaker's language, translates speech into the target language, and synthesizes speech playback, preserving the speaker's intonation, rhythm, and pitch, with translation delayed by only a few seconds. Supports 78 languages, including English, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Turkish, Polish, Ukrainian, and more. Speakers can even switch languages in the middle of a sentence.
  • Real-time captions: Displays translated content in text form in real time. Listeners can choose to listen to the audio, view captions, or both.
  • Multiple languages running simultaneously: Any number of target languages can run at the same time. Listeners scan a QR code with their phone or open a link, choose their own language, and listen. No account registration is required, and iPhone, Android, tablets, and laptops are supported.
  • Large-screen display: Provides full-screen caption pages for projection/TV/LED walls/live streaming, supporting full-wall captions, a caption bar below slides, and up to six columns for language-specific display; five themes, font size, number of lines, speaker names, custom background images, and a pre-event QR code poster. Settings are saved in the link, making it easy for the AV desk to bookmark. Supports transparent backgrounds for OBS or ProPresenter.
  • Post-event downloads: Transcript files (.txt, containing the original text and timestamps for each language), caption files (.srt, one per language), original audio (retained for 30 days), AI notes (summary, key points, action items, emailed at the end of the meeting), and can be packaged as a .zip download.

【How to Use】

  • On-site use: One person speaks, using a microphone, headset, or venue mixing console; listeners scan a QR code or open a link, choose a language, and listen through their own phone and headphones. Supports raise-hand mode (the host controls the next speaker), all-hands mode (each person taps their own phone to speak), and rotation mode.
  • Online meetings: The LiveTranslate bot can join Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Webex meetings as a silent participant. The bot only listens; it does not speak, does not display video, and does not change any settings. The meeting's existing flow remains unchanged, and participants simply open the listening link and choose a language. Each participant's audio arrives at the bot separately.People, so transcription and AI notes can indicate who said what (Webex exception: the bot only receives a mixed audio stream, so captions do not include speaker names).
  • Hybrid online and offline: on-site and remote participants can join by opening the same link.

[Use cases]

  • Church interpretation: the same QR code poster every Sunday, and one laptop or podium microphone can cover the speaker.
  • Conferences and events: no need for interpretation booths or rented headsets, languages can be added at any time during the event, the duration is valid for 12 months, and it suits a four-day continuous event.
  • Training, classes, and workshops: instructors can speak continuously for 30 to 120 minutes, listeners use their own phones to listen; the transcript can serve as class notes.
  • Roundtable discussions and interviews: 3 to 8 people talk around a table, two or three languages are supported, and the transcript includes names and reads like meeting minutes.
  • Online meetings: suitable for Zoom, Teams, Meet, and Webex.
  • Wedding interpretation: the ceremony and toasts share one microphone, and bilingual text can be displayed on the venue screen.
  • Guided tours, silent meetings, customer service front desks, and other scenarios.

[Billing and limits]

  • Listening is always free, no app or registration is required, and the number of listeners is unlimited.
  • After registering, you get 10 minutes of free interpretation time to try the full features, with no credit card required.
  • Paid plans are monthly or annual (annual is half price), and can be canceled at any time. Monthly plans start at $19 and include one hour of interpretation time; larger plans are less than $10 per hour; annual plans are as low as $1.90 per hour. Different plans include different numbers of minutes, listener limits, and language counts (for example: 180 minutes/up to 30 listeners/2 languages; 600 minutes/up to 100 listeners/3 languages; 1800 minutes/unlimited listeners/unlimited languages).
  • Billing method: one minute of meeting time interpreted into one language consumes one minute; a 60-minute meeting running Chinese and Japanese consumes 120 minutes; the speaker's language is automatically detected and is not billed; pausing stops the timer, and if no one speaks for five minutes it automatically pauses.
  • Currently, uploading recorded video or audio files is not supported, because it only listens to live sound. On Webex, the bot only receives a mixed audio stream, so captions do not include speaker names.
