About this tool

Clera MCP is a recruiting tool integration solution provided by Clera, embedding Clera's candidate network and recruiting capabilities into the AI clients users use daily through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Users can complete the recruiting process from search to introduction within the chat window they already have open, without switching platforms.

[Purpose] Clera MCP is designed for enterprise recruiting scenarios, allowing AI assistants to directly call Clera's recruiting tools to enable candidate search, screening, job management, and outreach introductions. It brings recruiting capabilities into Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok, and any tool that supports remote MCP clients, using the same set of candidate and job data and staying in sync with the Clera dashboard.

[Main Capabilities]

  • Search candidates: Describe job requirements in natural language, for example "Find senior backend engineers in Berlin with Go and Postgres experience"; the AI assistant calls the searchCandidates tool to return matching results, with no filters or Boolean expressions needed.
  • View recommended candidates: Use listRecommendedCandidates to get candidates Clera has pre-selected for a specific role, for example "Show me the candidates Clera pre-selected for our Head of Product role".
  • View full profiles: Use getCandidateProfile to retrieve a candidate's full profile and assess fit, for example "Pull up the full profile for M. Kaya and tell me if they're a fit".
  • Manage jobs: Use editJob to help write or edit job descriptions, for example "Help me write a job description for a Staff Frontend Engineer, remote in DACH".
  • Request introductions: Initiate requestIntro for candidates you like; the Clera team will contact the candidate, communicate with them, and report back in the same conversation, so users do not need to cold-contact candidates directly.candidate selection.
  • Team permission management: Use listTeamMembers and editCompanyContact to view team members who have access to MCP and add new hiring managers.

[How to Use]

  1. Add the remote server URL in Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, or Grok, and sign in with a Clera enterprise account. The general server URL is https://mcp.getclera.com .
  2. Configure it according to each client's specific method: Claude (web and desktop) adds the connector through Anthropic; ChatGPT (OpenAI) requires enabling developer mode and pasting the server URL; Claude Code runs one command in the terminal; Codex adds the server and logs in; Cursor writes the server address into .cursor/mcp.json; Grok adds a custom connector.
  3. After logging in, read-only tools are available immediately; operations involving writes will ask for confirmation first.
  4. Enter requirements directly in the same way you would describe a role to a recruiter; the AI assistant will automatically select tools, Clera completes the work, and the results are returned in the same conversation.
  5. You can also paste "Set up Clera for hiring: www.getclera.com/SKILL.md" into Claude, Cursor, Codex, or ChatGPT. This address is an agent skill that will tell the assistant the installation path suitable for the current client, how to check the account login status, and how to complete the process from the first search to referral.

[Supported Platforms] Any client that supports MCP can use it, including Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, Grok, Windsurf, VS Code, Zed, and others. As long as the client can add a remote MCP server via URL, Clera can connect.

[Use Cases] Suitable for enterprise recruiting teams, hiring managers, and founders to complete candidate sourcing, initial screening, and referral requests in the chat tools they use daily. All operations performed through MCP are synced to the Clera dashboard, and vice versa.

[Account and Limitations] You need a Clera enterprise account with candidate search enabled. Existing teams can connect their accounts directly; new teams need to apply for access. Candidates also have dedicated tools on the same server, including matching, interviews, job search, preferences, and resumes. Users must log in with the account they use on Clera.

[Pricing] MCP access is free during the beta period for early-access enterprises. Hiring completed through Clera requires the standard success fee: 15% of the candidate's first-year base salary. If MCP access pricing changes before the beta period ends, you will be informed in advance.

[Data and Privacy] Clera only obtains the tool parameters called by the AI assistant, including search filters, roles, rejection reasons, and notes the user asks to send, and does not obtain the rest of the conversation. Each tool call is associated with account and company records for operating and improving the service. For details, see getclera.com/privacy . If you encounter a tool malfunction, you can send an email to [email protected] with the malfunctioning tool and approximate time. You can revoke access at any time by removing the connector in the assistant settings.
