Contact form to email API

About this tool

FormEmailAPI is a free API service that forwards contact form submissions to an email inbox. Its core goal is to make a working contact form possible even for websites without backend code: you point the action of your HTML form to the dedicated endpoint generated by the service, and after a user submits, the content goes to your inbox.

Main capabilities

No backend code required: no need to deploy a server for this, maintain patches, or pay idle running costs. AI spam filtering: uses an LLM to understand submission intent and block spam that traditional rules struggle to identify. Submission storage: every submission is sent to you by email and also saved in the dashboard, where it can be searched and exported. The free plan retains data for 30 days, the Pro plan for one year, and the Business plan permanently. End-to-end encryption: submissions are transmitted over HTTPS and encrypted at rest; the endpoint only delivers to the email address bound to that form, and a copied URL cannot point to another address. Custom styling: this is an API rather than a widget, does not insert an iframe, does not inject a stylesheet, and does not display a badge; your markup and CSS remain as they are, and it works with any framework or plain HTML. Stability by design: the submission endpoint is a small Go service that is only responsible for receiving and storing requests; slower operations such as sending emails and running integrations happen in the background, so visitors do not have to wait when the email provider is busy. Attachment storage: form file uploads are stored directly in Amazon S3 and served from there; the database is also located in an AWS region, and both attachments and submissions run on managed infrastructure. Data autonomy: there are no tracking pixels in the form flow, and data is not sold or used for profiling; you can export or delete the submissions of a form at any time, and deleting a form also deletes all of its submissions. Custom redirect: after submission, visitors can be redirected to your own thank-you page, any URL, configurable per form or per submission. Auto-reply: automatically reply to submitters in your own words and merge the fields they submitted into the email. Fourfold spam protection: honeypot, Turnstile / hCaptcha / reCAPTCHA, keyword rules, and domain locking (so that others copying your form does not work on other websites). Blocked spam does not count toward your quota. Webhooks and chat notifications: forward each submission as JSON to your own endpoint, or directly to Slack, Discord, and Telegram; any service that accepts POST can be a recipient. Submission query API: read-only REST endpoints that let you pull submissions into your own tools, dashboards, or spreadsheets.

How to use

  1. Create a form: each form has its own dedicated endpoint, and the new form dialog opens directly after you log in.
  2. Configure: in the dashboard, choose where submissions are delivered, set the subject line, enable spam filtering, auto-replies, and forwarding; the markup does not need to be changed again. Official example:

html <form action="https://submit.formemailapi.com/YOUR_FORM_ID" method="POST"> <input type="text" name="name" required> <input type="email" name="email" required> <textarea name="message" required></textarea> <button type="submit">Send</button> </form>

  1. Paste into the page: Place the code snippet from step 2 into your website, noting that the action must be the form's own endpoint. Supports HTML, JavaScript, React, Next.js, Vue, cURL.

Use cases

Marketing website contact forms, job application forms (with optional resume upload), support and bug reports (can be routed to Slack or Discord), landing page lead collection (backendless landing pages can pull leads into a CRM via API), feedback and survey forms (any combination of fields, hidden fields can be added to identify the source page), agencies building forms for client websites (one form per client website, each delivered to the client's address, each with its own spam settings and quotas).

Limitations and notes

The free plan includes 250 messages per month, free plan submission records are retained for 30 days, Pro for one year, and Business permanently. Official materials state "free forever," but the specific pricing of each paid plan, additional quotas, and feature differences are not yet provided. Regarding GDPR compliance, data security details, and the full content of the FAQ, the official source mentions that the FormEmailAPI documentation can be consulted; these were not covered in this material.
