OpenCode Mobile is an open-source Android client for connecting to your own self-hosted opencode AI programming agent server. It is independently built by the community and is not affiliated with the opencode / Anomaly team; instead, it communicates with your own self-hosted server through the opencode open HTTP API. The app is developed with React Native / Expo and released under the MIT license. It is free with no feature gates, no ad networks, and no built-in analytics SDK.
Purpose and Positioning This app is a thin client designed to let users remotely use opencode's AI-assisted programming capabilities from their phone, writing, reviewing, and shipping code anytime, anywhere. It does not handle AI model calls itself; all model calls are made by your opencode server. You bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic, and other API keys; the app never touches these keys, nor does it proxy your code or conversations through its servers.
Main Capabilities
- Offline demo mode: Tap "Try a Demo" to watch an approximately 30-second scripted bug-fix flow (reasoning → grep → diff → permission prompt) in the app's real chat, Diff, and permission approval interfaces without any setup.
- Multi-connection management: Manage multiple opencode servers, with support for local network, Cloudflare Tunnel, ngrok, or Tailscale connections.
- Streaming chat: Get token-by-token streaming responses directly from your opencode server.
- Diff viewer: Display the agent's changes to each file inline and side by side.
- Tool call approval: Review and approve or reject tool calls before the agent executes them.
- Secure credential storage: Server credentials are stored in the Android Keystore via expo-secure-store.
- Biometric unlock: Protect the app and individual message sending with Face ID, Touch ID, or Android fingerprint.
- Session management: Browse, create, and resume programming sessions.
Installation Methods There are currently three available and supported installation channels, all for Android:
- Google Play:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cc.agentlabs.opencode
- F-Droid (self-hosted repository): Add the self-hosted repository in any F-Droid client and then install/update. Repository address:https://dzianisv.github.io/opencode-mobile/fdroid/repo (in the F-Droid app: Settings → Repositories → + and paste the above URL). Current version v0.4.7.
- Direct download of the signed APK:https://github.com/dzianisv/opencode-mobile/releases/latest The app package name is cc.agentlabs.opencode, and it supports Android only. The IzzyOnDroid submission is pending, and there is currently no iOS version.
How to Use
- Start opencode on your machine (and set a password).
- Install OpenCode Mobile via Google Play, F-Droid, or the direct APK (you can also build from source; see CONTRIBUTING.md).
- In the app, tap Add Connection, select the connection type, and enter the corresponding address:
- Local network: your machine's LAN IP, for example, http://192.168.1.100:4096
- Tunnel: Cloudflare Tunnel or ngrok URL, for example, https://my-opencode.trycloudflare.com
- Tailscale: your machine's Tailscale IP, for example, http://100.x.x.x:4096
- opencode Cloud: Planned, not yet released, will provide one-click hosting with no need to self-host a server Then enter the password set in step 1 and click Connect. If you have not yet set up a server, you can first install the app and click Try a Demo in the session interface to try it out, with no setup required.
Use cases Suitable for developers who want to connect to a self-hosted opencode server on their phone at any time for AI-assisted programming, especially for users who need to remotely review code changes, approve tool calls, and securely store server credentials.
Limitations and notes
- Android only, no iOS version yet.
- You need to run the opencode server yourself; the app itself does not provide model services.
- The opencode Cloud hosted backend has not yet been released (planned at $10 per month).
- Privacy: the app does not collect personal data; optional Sentry crash reporting is off by default and must be actively enabled, sending anonymous crash traces; credentials are stored only in the device OS keystore. See the full privacy policy at dzianisv.github.io/opencode-mobile/privacy.
- The project is built and maintained by VIBE TECHNOLOGIES, LLC, and GitHub Sponsors is used to cover Sentry, EAS Build, and CI costs (about $60 per month).
Near-term roadmap
- opencode Cloud one-click connection + hosting
- Inclusion in the F-Droid main repository (FCM audit + reproducible build verification)
- Tunnel setup wizard (Cloudflare / ngrok / Tailscale)
- iPad / tablet layout
- Offline session history cache Bug reports, feature requests, and PRs are welcome; see CONTRIBUTING.md for the contribution process.
