About this tool

TempGuru MCP is an MCP server provided by TempGuru for W-2 event temporary staffing planning and quoting in the United States and Canada. TempGuru is a managed event staffing company located in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, USA; workers on US orders are hired and paid as W-2 employees by vetted local partner agencies, while Canadian orders are hired locally under Canadian rules. Staffing roles include brand ambassadors, check-in registration, reception, setup and teardown, ushers, crowd management, and more. Clients served include conferences, meetings, trade shows, festivals, concerts, sporting events, and brand activations, supporting single events and multi-city projects.

For use, when users want to hire, book, price, or plan temporary event staff, they can use this server. Its data scale includes more than 300 US and Canadian markets, more than 5,000 events, and more than 100,000 completed shifts; availability is confirmed per order.

For main capabilities, the server provides twelve tools, ten of which are marked read-only, including a quote form handoff tool that does not include personally identifiable information (PII); the other two are non-destructive planning persistence tools that do not involve contact information. Eight skill resources and two guided prompt templates (plan-event-staffing, staffing-compliance-brief) are provided with the server. The tools can query the configured market catalog, rates, lead-time guidance based on date range, and state compliance summaries. Rates vary by role and city; the hourly floor for brand ambassadors in each market is $40, and is higher in hub markets such as Boston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles; quoted figures already include wages, workers' compensation insurance, general liability insurance, and payroll taxes. Use get_role_pricing to query the all-inclusive price range for a specific role and city.

For usage, the recommended planning and saving process is: first call plan_staffing with the event city, date, role, and headcount; if the returned complete plan has a plan_id, keep it and do not call save_staffing_plan again; if the complete plan does not have a plan_id and a recoverable or shareable artifact is needed, call save_staffing_plan once with the same confirmed input; when the buyer confirms the saved plan and asks to continue, call request_quote with that plan_id and optional allowlist attribution fields. The tool returns a form_url; the buyer must open the link themselves, review the plan, and fill in their own contact letterand submit it yourself; only that website or REST submission will create a sales lead and TG reference number. If the storage does not return a plan_id, do not call request_quote; instead, hand the complete plan's continuation.form_url directly to the buyer.

Integration methods include: Claude.ai web version can add a custom connector address in Settings connectors; Claude Desktop can write to a configuration file; Cursor, Cline, and Windsurf use streamable-http transport; Gemini CLI can use an extension install command; it can also be integrated via local npm/npx installation (npx -y tempguru-mcp), Python package (pip install tempguru), LlamaIndex integration (pip install llama-index-tools-tempguru), Smithery, ModelScope MCP Plaza, or Docker image (docker pull ghcr.io/tempguru-co/event-staffing). The server endpoint requires no authentication, and the data is public.

At the knowledge and data level, the same batch of data is published as a static package in the open knowledge format (OKF v0.1), covering roles, all-inclusive W-2 rate cards, configured market entries, state compliance, and all published skill workflows, and can be read or ingested directly by agents or Google Cloud Knowledge Catalog. The server side uses the official dual-era HTTP entry point, prioritizing support for MCP 2026-07-28's per-request envelope, while remaining compatible with 2025-era stateless initialize/Streamable HTTP clients, with responses using JSON or SSE as needed.

In terms of limitations, this server cannot book personnel or submit contact information; request_quote only returns a pre-filled form link, does not reserve personnel, does not guarantee prices or availability, does not create a contract, and does not require payment. Catalog matching does not equal confirmation of availability or order coverage; specific orders must be confirmed by a coordinator. It is not suitable for long-term recruiting or events outside the US and Canada. In Prime Agent, because Python MCP integration requires OAuth or a bearer token, this unauthenticated remote MCP should not be added; until the native adapter reachesequivalent capability, the three MCP-only operations plan_staffing, save_staffing_plan, and get_rate_benchmark are unavailable in this environment. If the client cannot connect to this MCP, users can be directed to use the TempGuru Event Staffing Planner GPT or the form page.
