Seedream 5.0 is ByteDance Seed's multimodal image model series, capable of generating and editing images based on written instructions and visual references. The series includes two versions, Pro and Lite, designed for different creative stages and task complexity.
In terms of use, Seedream 5.0 can be used to generate practical, usable visual content from rough ideas, reference images, or detailed creative briefs, including structured graphics, controlled edits, multilingual layouts, product concepts, and realistic scenes. All operations are completed within a private online workspace.
Key capabilities:
- Text to Image: Select Text to Image, describe the asset's purpose, subject, composition, visual direction, and constraints, then choose Pro or Lite and the available output settings. Results are saved together with the prompt for easy refinement.
- Image to Image: Select Image to Image, upload one or more supported reference images, and explain what should be preserved, changed, or avoided. Reference image limits and accepted formats may vary depending on the selected model, and the workbench displays the current rules.
- Pro version: Suited for complex visual instructions, dense information, multilingual layouts, reference-sensitive edits, and finely detailed images where details matter, staying closer to final delivery.
- Lite version: Suited for rapid concept development, broad visual exploration, reasoning-oriented briefs, and iterative work that requires testing more directions before refining.
How to use: New accounts receive 20 free credits upon registration, with no credit card required. 1 free credit can also be claimed per UTC date. Generation consumes credits, and the workbench displays an accurate quote before generation. Subscription plans are available: Basic at 200 credits per month, Pro at 600 credits per month, and Max at 1,500 credits per month; as well as one-time pay-as-you-go credit packs, where credits never expire. Subscription credits can roll over for up to 60 days during the subscription period. If the provider reports a task failure, frozen credits are returned to the balance.
Applicable scenarios include: information design (such as educational infographics), reference-guided editing (such as changing the background while preserving product shape), photographic realism (such as editing interior photography), multilingual design (such as bilingual exhibition posters), marketing campaign direction exploration, product scene concepts, infographics, visual direction comparison, content series visual systems, and film and television pre-production visual development, among others.
Limitations and notes:
- This site, Seedream-5.site, is an independent platform, not ByteDance's official Seedream website, and provides access to supported image models.
- The service is not unlimited; generation consumesCredits.
- Available sizes, aspect ratios, and formats depend on the selected model and current endpoint, subject to workbench settings. The page should not promise native 4K unless the selected model configuration explicitly provides it; upscaling is not the same as native generation.
- Commercial use is included in paid plans and credit packs, but is subject to the platform terms and applicable model provider conditions. Users must review trademarks, likenesses, copyrighted inputs, regulated claims, and production-critical text themselves.
- All paid plans use the same model quality; plans differ only in the number of credits and support level.
- Generated images are stored privately in the account and can be viewed in history. For more information about account data, uploaded references, retention, and service providers, please consult the privacy policy.
- The number of images is an estimate based on the currently displayed model credit cost; the actual amount is subject to the real-time quote in the workbench.
