Segment Anything Model (SAM) is the latest image segmentation model released by Meta AI Research. The model generates high-quality object masks from input prompts such as points or boxes, and can be used to generate masks for all objects and entities in an image. The SAM model was trained on a dataset of over 11 million images and 1.1 billion masks, and has strong zero-shot performance on various image segmentation tasks.
