What is MusaCoder
MusaCoder is a specialized code large model open-sourced by Moore Threads for GPU low-level operator generation, supporting automatic generation of high-performance CUDA/MUSA Kernels from PyTorch operators. The model's complete post-training process was carried out on the Kuae Intelligent Computing Cluster based on MTT S5000. In the KernelBench evaluation, MusaCoder-27B-RL surpassedClaude Opus 4.7、DeepSeek-V4 Proand other mainstream models with an Overall Pass@8 of 93.2% and Avg.@8 of 88.60%, reaching the industry-leading level.
Main Features of MusaCoder

-
Core Operator Coverage: Covers core deep learning operator types such as matrix multiplication, convolution, reduction, and element-wise operations.
-
Multiple Model Sizes: Provides three parameter scales: 7B / 14B / 27B, flexibly adapting to computing power needs from edge to data center.
-
Execution Verification Loop: Built-in compilation and execution verification mechanism automatically detects the functional correctness and execution efficiency of generated code.
-
Full-Chain Open Source: Open-sources model weights, training code, datasets, and verification tools, supporting the community in reproducing and secondary training on domestic GPUs.
Technical Principles of MusaCoder
- Foundation Architecture and Post-Training: Based on the Qwen2.5 series 7B / 14B / 32B large language model architecture, injects GPU parallel programming and operator optimization knowledge through full supervised fine-tuning, then further aligns with performance goals through reinforcement learning, forming specialized code generation capability for low-level hardware.
- Execution Feedback Reinforcement Learning: Introduces a generation-compilation-execution closed-loop verification mechanism in the RL stage, using actual GPU execution results as reward signals to continuously optimize the model's output of runnable and efficient Kernel code, significantly reducing the probability of hallucinated code.
- Domestic GPU Full-Chain Verification: The entire post-training process was completed on the Kuae Intelligent Computing Cluster based on Moore Threads MTT S5000, achieving a domestic full-function GPU full-chain closed loop from model training to operator inference, ensuring deep adaptation of generated code to domestic hardware.
How to Use MusaCoder
- Environment Preparation: Deploy Moore Threads MTT S5000 GPU and MUSA SDK, install PyTorch and the MusaTorch adaptation framework.
- Obtain the Model: Download the MusaCoder-7B / 14B / 27B open-source model weights from HuggingFace.
- Input Operator Description: Provide the PyTorch operator API to be implemented or a high-level mathematical description as the model input prompt.
- Generate Kernel: Run model inference to automatically generate the corresponding CUDA or MUSA low-level Kernel implementation code.
- Verify Execution: Use the built-in toolchain to compile and execute the generated Kernel, compare numerical correctness and runtime efficiency, and iterate for optimization.
