What is Grok Bot
Grok Bot is an AI Agent system launched by SpaceXAI. It can log into users' accounts and operate websites and tools like a real person, completing actual work for users 24 hours a day in the cloud. The system supports multi-Bot parallel collaboration, workflow recording and automatic execution, and Bots can even create new Bots to form teams. The prototype comes from Cursor's internal Agent product codenamed "Sand" and now runs on Cursor's infrastructure.
Main features of Grok Bot
- Account operation on behalf of users: Directly log into existing applications and websites, and click, fill in, and advance tasks at the interface level like a real person, without API or MCP support.
- Always-on cloud operation: Each Bot has its own dedicated small cloud computer and runs in the background 24 hours a day, independent of whether your device is powered on. It can automatically pull data and organize reports in the early morning.
- Multi-Bot parallel collaboration: You can create sales Bots, recruiting Bots, expense Bots, Bug reproduction Bots, etc. at the same time, each independently handling different tasks.
- Autonomous communication between Bots: Bots can talk directly to each other, pass tasks, and negotiate division of labor; a management Bot can summarize sub-Bot progress and only check with you at key milestones.
- Bots creating Bots: You can instruct a Bot to "form a team" on its own, automatically create new sub-Bots, and assign responsibilities.
- Workflow recording and evolution: Observe your operation process and save it as a template, support corrections during execution, and workflows continuously improve with use.
- Cross-device sync: Supports macOS desktop and iOS, with task progress synced across devices.
How to use Grok Bot
- Visit and download: Visit the Grok Bot official website https://x.ai/bot,下载 macOS, iOS clients, iPad, and Google Android systems.
- Log in and subscribe: Log in with an account already subscribed to Cursor Teams Premium ($120/month), Cursor Ultra ($200/month), or SuperGrok Heavy ($300/month).
- Create a Bot: Click to create a new Bot, name it, and set its job title and task description.
- Assign tasks: Assign specific work to the Bot, such as sales outreach, recruiting screening, expense management, or Bug reproduction.
- Automatic execution: The Bot automatically logs into specified applications or websites, operates at the interface level like a real person, and advances tasks autonomously.
- Human-Bot collaboration: The Bot runs 24 hours a day in the cloud and only comes back to you for confirmation at key milestones that require human judgment.
- Multi-Bot coordination: You can create multiple Bots to run in parallel at the same time. They will communicate with each other, negotiate division of labor, and even automatically create sub-Bots to form teams.
Core advantages of Grok Bot
-
No interface restrictions: No API or MCP required. Directly log into applications and websites, and click, fill in, and advance tasks at the interface level like a real person.
-
Always-on cloud: Each Bot has a dedicated cloud computer and runs independently in the background 24 hours a day, independent of whether your device is online.
-
Multi-Bot coordination: You can deploy multiple Bots at the same time to handle different tasks. They autonomously communicate, negotiate division of labor, and coordinate to advance complex workflows.
-
Workflow evolution: Observe and save your operation steps as a template, support corrections during execution, and continuously optimize the workflow through use.
-
Self-organizing teams: Bots can be instructed to form teams on their own, automatically create sub-Bots and assign responsibilities, enabling hierarchical management.
-
Closed-loop execution: Grok Bot can push through to the final step of a task and only checks with you at key points.
Comparison of Grok Bot's similar competitors
| Comparison dimension | Grok Bot | OpenClaw |
|---|---|---|
| Operating mode | Always-on in the cloud, each Bot has its own dedicated small cloud computer, running independently in the background 24 hours a day, without relying on the user's device being online. | Local-first, tasks execute on the user's local device or self-hosted server, and tasks are interrupted if the device is powered off. |
| Deployment architecture | Centralized hosting, Bots run in the xAI cloud, and users remotely check progress and receive notifications through the client. | Decentralized self-hosting, data does not pass through third-party servers, supports one-click Docker deployment, and offers stronger privacy control. |
| Interaction entry point | Dedicated desktop client (macOS) + iOS App, Bots exist as independent chat windows and support parallel sessions with multiple Bots. | Supports integration with more than 50 messaging platforms including Telegram, Discord, and Slack, triggering tasks through chat commands. |
| Model support | Deeply bound to the Grok series models, powered underneath by xAI's self-developed models, with unified model capabilities but no switching. | Can freely switch between OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and local open-source models, allowing users to configure flexibly according to task needs. |
| Tool operation | Directly logs into the user's account and clicks, fills in, and operates at the application interface level like a real person, without requiring API or MCP support. | Relies on MCP (Model Context Protocol) and APIs to connect tools, with limited support for traditional software that has no interface. |
| Multi-Agent collaboration | Natively supports multiple Bots running in parallel; Bots can communicate directly, negotiate division of labor, and automatically create sub-Bots to form teams. | Mainly single-session, lacking persistent collaboration across different tasks; multi-Agent collaboration requires manual chaining. |
| Workflow capability | Supports recording user operations and saving them as templates; Bots can autonomously execute according to templates and continuously optimize with corrections, enabling workflow evolution. | Workflows are defined through preset instructions and scripts, lacking a closed-loop evolution mechanism of "observe-learn-automatically optimize". |
| Security and privacy | Account credentials are hosted in the xAI cloud, and Bots log in and operate on behalf of users, so users need to trust the platform's data security policies. | Runs locally, account credentials and task data remain on the user side and do not pass through third-party servers, providing stronger privacy control. |
| Pricing threshold | Requires a subscription to Cursor Teams Premium ($120/month), Cursor Ultra ($200/month), or SuperGrok Heavy ($300/month). | Open source and free, requiring only the server cost of self-hosting, with an extremely low threshold for individual developers and small teams. |
