On May 9, 2024, the San Francisco-based AI startup focused on cancer clinical trial matchingTriomicsannounced it raised $15 million in Series A funding. Investors in this round include Lightspeed, Nexus Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and Y Combinator.
The company plans to use the raised funds to further develop its platform and promote it to new customers.
Triomics was co-founded in 2021 by former MIT biotechnology researcher Sarim Khan and Adobe AI scientist Hrituraj Singh, who realized that advances in generative AI and large language models could help extract data from electronic health records (EHRs), thereby finding suitable clinical trials for cancer patients in minutes rather than hours. Currently, Triomics' large model is actively used or piloted by six cancer centers and hospitals, and the company plans to double that number by the end of the year.
