Atmospore MCP is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server designed to provide pollen forecast tools for Claude and other AI assistants that support MCP. Through this server, AI assistants can answer questions about pollen forecasts for any location on Earth.
Main capabilities:
- Adds four tools to Claude for querying pollen forecasts.
- Provides one resource: atmospore://help, where usage instructions can be browsed in Claude Desktop.
- Coordinates cover the globe; the model has global coverage with a resolution of approximately 28 km.
How to use:
- Get a free Atmospore API key at atmospore.com/account (100 calls per day, no credit card required).
- Edit the Claude Desktop configuration file:
- macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
- Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
- Add Atmospore as an MCP server.
- Restart Claude Desktop.
- Ask Claude a question, for example: "what's the pollen in Oslo today?", and it will call the tool and return the result.
Example prompts:
- "What's the pollen forecast for Oslo this week?"
- "Is tree or grass pollen worse in Stockholm right now?"
- "I'm allergic to birch — when is birch pollen peaking in Bergen?"
- "Compare pollen levels in London and Copenhagen today."
Limits and quotas: Each tool call accesses the Atmospore API and counts toward the key's daily quota. The free tier (100 calls per day) covers casual use — a typical Claude conversation will trigger 1–5 tool calls. Heavy users (more than about 5 pollen conversations per day) will need a paid plan. When the quota is reached, the tool returns a structured quota_exceeded response, and Claude will say in plain language: "You've hit your Atmospore daily limit. Upgrade at atmospore.com/plans."
Related resources:
- atmospore: the underlying Python client that this server wraps.
- atmospore.com: hosts the forecasts and the developer dashboard.
