Purpose
Clean Inbox for Gmail is an AI inbox cleaning add-on for Gmail, mainly addressing the problem of inbox clutter caused by spam, newsletters, promotions, and marketing emails, with the goal of helping users achieve inbox zero.
Main Capabilities
- Automatic categorization and filtering: Automatically sort and filter spam, newsletters, promotions, and marketing emails, and can label entire categories of email.
- AI-generated filter rules: This is an AI email classifier that can write Gmail filter rules for users. Users describe in natural language the emails they do not want, and the AI writes the corresponding Gmail filters, with no need to learn filter syntax.
- Email type identification and suggestions: When an email is opened, it determines what type the email belongs to, then suggests a filter that can capture all emails of the same type.
- Sender management: Unwanted senders and allowed senders can be managed.
How to Use
Used as a Gmail add-on. After the user opens an email in Gmail, the add-on classifies the email type and provides filtering suggestions; users can also describe in natural language the types of emails they want to filter out, and the AI generates the filter rules.
Privacy and Technology
The official statement says the product is built on Google Gemini and runs within Google Cloud. Email subject lines are not sent to OpenAI or any other third party; email content is never read. The official statement lists privacy as a top priority.
Use Cases
Suitable for Gmail users whose inboxes are occupied by large amounts of newsletters, promotions, and marketing emails, and who want to automatically organize them and reduce the cost of manually configuring filter rules.
Limitations and Other Information
Facts about the range of supported platforms, fees and pricing, specific installation steps, language support, and similar details are not provided in the materials.
The official materials also mention another product under the same company: Unsubscribe for Gmail™, which can bulk unsubscribe, block, and delete mailing lists within Gmail.
