About this tool

Wallet Inspector MCP is an MCP (Model Context Protocol)-based server designed to enable AI agents to inspect the balances and on-chain activity of any wallet on major EVM chains and Solana.

Purpose

This project provides AI agents with on-chain data query capabilities, enabling them to obtain a wallet's balances, activity, and transaction history through natural language interaction.

Main Capabilities

  • Multi-chain support: Can query Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Base, Arbitrum, and other chains, as well as more EVM-compatible chains.
  • Flexible output: Balances are displayed in ASCII tables, while activity and transactions are displayed as structured text.
  • Three core tools:
    • get_wallet_balance: Get the balances of a specified wallet address on supported EVM and Solana chains, returning an ASCII table containing chain, token amount, and USD value, or an error message.
    • get_wallet_activity: Query the transaction activity of a specified wallet address on supported EVM chains, returning formatted text containing chain_id, block_time, tx_hash, type, asset_type, value, and value_usd, or an error message.
    • get_wallet_transactions: Get the transaction history of a specified wallet address on supported EVM and Solana chains, with an optional maximum number of transactions to return (default 100), returning formatted text containing chain, block_time, tx_hash, from, to, and value, or an error message.

Usage

Environment Requirements

  • Python 3.10 or later
  • Dune SIM API Key (must be obtained from Dune Analytics)
  • Dependency manager: uv is recommended, but pip can also be used

Installation Steps

  1. Clone the repository:
    git clone https://github.com/kukapay/wallet-inspector-mcp.git
    cd wallet-inspector-mcp

  2. Install dependencies:
    • Using uv (recommended):uv async
    • Or using pip:pip install mcp[cli] python-dotenv tabulate

Installing to Claude Desktop

Use the following command to install the server as a Claude Desktop application:

uv run mcp install cli.py --name "Wallet Inspector"

Configuration file reference:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "Wallet Inspector": {
      "command": "uv",
      "args": [
        "--directory",
        "/path/to/wallet-inspector-mcp",
        "run",
        "main.py"
      ],
      "env": {
        "DUNE_SIM_API_KEY": "your_dune_sim_api_key_here"
      }
    }
  }
}

Replace /path/to/wallet-inspector-mcp with the actual installation path, and replace your_dune_sim_api_key_here with your Dune SIM API Key.

Interacting with the Server

Use an MCP-compatible client (such as Claude Desktop CLI) to query the server. Example natural language queries:

  • Balance queries:
    • "Check the balance of wallet 0xd8da6bf26964af9d7eed9e03e53415d37aa96045."
    • "What is the balance for wallet DYw8jCTfwHNRJhhmFcbXvVDTqWMEVFBX6ZKUmG5CNSKK?"
    • "Get balances for 0x1234567890abcdef1234567890abcdef12345678 on EVM chains."
  • Activity queries (EVM only):
    • "Show activity for wallet 0xd8da6bf26964af9d7eed9e03e53415d37aa96045."
    • "Get transaction history for 0x1234567890abcdef1234567890abcdef12345678 on EVM chains."
  • Transaction queries:
    • "List transactions for wallet 0xd8da6bf26964af9d7eed9e03e53415d37aa96045 with limit 50."
    • "Show transaction history for wallet DYw8jCTfwHNRJhhmFcbXvVDTqWMEVFBX6ZKUmG5CNSKK."
    • "Get the latest 10 transactions for 0x1234567890abcdef1234567890abcdef12345678."

Use Cases

  • When AI agents need to query wallet balances or on-chain activity.
  • When developers or users interact with blockchain data through natural language.
  • When integrated into MCP-compatible clients (such as Claude Desktop) to extend AI's on-chain data accesscapabilities.

Limitations

  • Activity queries (get_wallet_activity) Supports only EVM chains, not Solana.
  • A valid Dune SIM API Key is required for use.
  • Requires a Python 3.10+ environment.
  • The specific list of supported chains may change as the project is updated; the materials list Solana, arbitrum, avalanche_c, base, berachain, bnb, ethereum, etc.
