About this tool

GammaRips MCP is an options flow intelligence server for AI agents, built on the MCP (Model Context Protocol) protocol, providing data primitives for traders who bring their own agents, rather than investment advice. Its core design principle is "primitives only, no stock picking": there is no "what to buy" endpoint, and each agent reasons out contracts and exit rules on its own based on the same data.

Purpose and Data Pool Each trading night, GammaRips ranks 3,532 optionable US stocks by liquidity, takes the top 100, keeps the bullish names, and prices one out-of-the-money call option for each, forming a candidate pool of about 40 to 50 contracts. The pool is filtered based on contract liquidity: since the liquidity rule went live (2026-08-24, 1,301 contracts), the median open interest is 4,664 and the median intraday volume is 1,039; over the prior 60 scan days they were 906 and 232, respectively. The thinnest 10% of contracts still retain 1,635 open interest, versus 29 previously. In a 60-day study, the non-fill rate for 10:00 AM ET entries dropped from 40.5% to 6.1%.

Main Capabilities (9 tools) V4 (2026-07-17) consolidated V3's 29 tools into 9, with the absorbed tools existing as view= or granularity= modes, and web_search removed. Free tier (no key required): get_pool (candidate pool, supporting enriched/raw/features/preview views), get_regime_context (VIX/VIX3M/SPY trend and invalidation shutdown status track), get_market_calendar_status (NYSE open/close, scan dates, data freshness), get_playbook (methodology and reference, including start-here, daily-workflow, run-your-own-tournament, exit-lab, leakage-and-data-contract, changelog, and schema), get_daily_report (daily report). Pro tier (Agent Access, $29/month key): get_signal (single-symbol details or earnings window check), get_liquidity (entry-day liquidity, single contract or the entire pool), query_outcomes (outcomes and receipts, supporting views such as labels/summary/surface/harvest/exit_rule/signal_performance/win_rate/positions/performance), replay_contract (raw price bands, minute or daily granularity, for custom exit rules; the server does not simulate exits).

How to Use Hosted MCP endpoint: Streamable HTTP (primary)https://mcp.gammarips.com/mcp;SSE(旧版,弃用窗口)https://mcp.gammarips.com/sse;无状态 JSON-RPC https://mcp.gammarips.com/jsonrpc;服务器卡片 https://mcp.gammarips.com/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json;OAuth endpoint (chat clients)https://mcp.gammarips.com/pro。 Authentication: two kinds of credentials, one tiering system. API keys gr_live_... are sent via Authorization: Bearer <key> or X-API-Key; OAuth 2.1 access tokens are issued by gammarips.com (chat clients) or minted by machine clients with client_credentials (headless agents). Free-tier tools require no credentials on /mcp; the 4 Pro tools require an active subscription. Chat clients: add a custom connector or remote MCP server in ChatGPT, Claude (claude.ai / Desktop), etc., with the URL https://mcp.gammarips.com/pro,客户端自动发现授权服务器并打开登录同意页,无需粘贴密钥。 Headless agent: Create a machine client at gammarips.com/account (Agent Access required), obtain client_id + client_secret (shown only once), mint a one-hour access token with client_credentials before each run and send it as bearer; machine clients have no refresh token, and the tier is re-read from the subscription on each mint. Plugin installation: This repository is an Open Plugins standard plugin (.cursor-plugin/plugin.json), bundling a hosted MCP server and the gammarips-options-flow skill. Install it by searching for "GammaRips" in the plugin marketplace or by pointing Cursor at this repository. It connects on the free tier by default; add a gr_live_... key to enable Pro tools. Manual configuration: In Cursor, add it in Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server or in .cursor/mcp.json; in Cline, add it in MCP Servers → Remote Servers → Add or in cline_mcp_settings.json; omit headers for the free tier. Clients that only support SSE can use the legacy /sse endpoint during the deprecation window.

Use cases and limitations Intended for traders with their own agents, for reasoning over candidate pools, designing exit rules, replaying contract price bands, and querying outcome labels and performance receipts. The data is simulated trading research data, for educational purposes only, and does not constitute investment advice. The engine's own daily selections are not published on the same day; after a reset, the live queue may legitimately be empty (total_trades: 0 and aggregates null means no closed trades have accumulated yet, not a 0% win rate); policy_version="all" includes queues the engine has deprecated and does not constitute a performance record. Local development supports Docker, the server binds to 0.0.0.0:${PORT:-8080}, and Streamable HTTP is at /mcp (SSE fallback). Deployment is manual, using the Cloud Run source deployment script, with secrets mounted via Secret Manager; never pass them as plaintext environment variables. For the security model, see SECURITY.md, including read-only guarantees, parameterized queries to prevent SQL injection, response size limits, per-IP rate limiting, sanitized errors, leak-proof views, the column-classification data contract, and the OAuth 2.1 resource server model (this service only validates tokens; gammarips.com is the authorization server).
