Infyicon MCP Server is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets AI assistants directly search for and retrieve Infyicon's hand-drawn style icon resources. It is aimed at users who need to quickly access icon assets in conversation or coding environments, and supports access from any MCP client such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code / Copilot, Codex, Gemini, Windsurf, Zed, Cline, Goose, LM Studio, JetBrains, etc.
Main capabilities:
- Search 161,000+ free hand-drawn vector icons.
- Provides four matching styles: outline, fill, color-outline, color-fill.
- Returns SVG markup that can be embedded directly.
- Provides transparent PNG image links from 16–512 pixels.
- Comes with a UI web font containing 61,000 glyphs.
- All tools are read-only operations.
Usage: The hosted endpoint is recommended https://infyicon.com/mcp，该端点采用可流式 HTTP, stateless design, no authentication required, no API key required. Official one-click install buttons and copy-paste configurations for each client are provided, see https://infyicon.com/connect。
Client integration examples:
- Claude.ai / Claude Desktop: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → enter https://infyicon.com/mcp；或安装桌面扩展 infyicon.mcpb.
- ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced → Developer mode → Create → enter in MCP URL https://infyicon.com/mcp，auth select None.
- Cursor: add to Cursor or ~/.cursor/mcp.json.
- VS Code / GitHub Copilot: configure .vscode/mcp.json.
- Codex CLI: run codex mcp add infyicon --url https://infyicon.com/mcp。
- Gemini CLI (recommended extension method): run gemini extensions install https://github.com/krupalghori44-dev/infyicon-mcp，会添加服务器、/icons <query> command and usage context; regular MCP can also be used: gemini mcp add --transport http infyicon https://infyicon.com/mcp。Gemini App: Settings → Connected apps → Add custom MCP server.

- Clients that only support stdio (Zed, Goose, LM Studio, JetBrains, Perplexity, etc.): a zero-dependency npm bridge program can be used to forward to the hosted server.
Run it yourself: standalone.js forwards initialize, tools/list, and tools/call to https://infyicon.com/mcp（可通过 INFYICON_MCP_UPSTREAM override), so it will not expire. mcp.js is the reference implementation running on infyicon.com (Express, handwritten JSON-RPC, no SDK).

Limitations and notes:
- Tool parameters (search terms, icon IDs, style filters) are sent to infyicon.com via HTTPS; responses include icon metadata, SVG markup, and PNG links.
- No account, API key, telemetry, or local file access required.

- The server and bridge code are MIT licensed; icons are free to use but attribution is required, see https://infyicon.com/license。
- Old names from v1.0/1.1 (popular_icons, related_icons, bulk_svg, uicons_lookup) are still accepted as aliases.
