InstaDomain is a domain registration MCP server for AI agents, designed to let AI programming assistants directly complete domain lookups, purchases, and DNS configuration within a conversation, without leaving the terminal or switching to a browser.
Purpose
In AI programming environments such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf, when users need a domain, they can directly have the AI agent check availability, display pricing, and complete the purchase. DNS is automatically ready before the next prompt is completed, avoiding the roughly 10 minutes of context switching in the traditional process.
Main capabilities
- Check domains: supports single-domain lookups (including pricing), batch checks (up to 50), and AI-generated domain suggestions.
- Buy domains: supports Stripe Checkout (card), Stripe MPP (autonomous fiat payment via shared payment tokens), or x402 (USDC on the Base chain, no signup required).
- Automatic DNS: after payment is completed, automatically creates a Cloudflare DNS zone and returns a scoped API token.
- Domain ownership: domains are registered in the user's own name; the user is the legal registrant in the OpenSRS (Tucows) records, and InstaDomain acts only as the administrative/technical contact.
- Transfer and renewal: built-in EPP authorization code retrieval and domain unlocking allow transfer at any time; auto-renewal is enabled by default and can be renewed via Stripe.
- WHOIS privacy: enabled by default.
How to use

x402 crypto payments: accepts USDC on the Base chain, with no signup or API key required; AI agents can pay directly from a wallet, enabling fully autonomous domain registration.
MPP (Machine Payment Protocol): implements Stripe's Machine Payment Protocol; agents can pay with fiat (cards, Link) or stablecoins via shared payment tokens, with no browser checkout or human intervention required. The process is: POST /buy/mpp creates an order and returns pay_url; use an MPP-capable HTTP client to GET /pay/mpp/{order_id}; the first response is HTTP 402 with a WWW-Authenticate challenge; the client generates a shared payment token through the Stripe Business Network profile and retries; the server charges through Stripe and returns a receipt in Authentication-Info.
