RemoveText.video is an online AI video cleanup tool whose main purpose is to remove unwanted elements from video footage, including hardcoded text, creator captions, hardcoded subtitles, old logos, internal review marks, and authorized watermarks. Its goal is to let users obtain a cleaner version of a video while preserving the original footage, timeline, and composition, without having to crop the frame, cover text with stickers, or re-edit the entire clip.
In terms of main capabilities, the tool supports removing text baked into video frames, such as dates, labels, titles, and timestamps; supports removing creator captions or social media text so that typos can be corrected, styles changed, or new versions prepared; supports removing hardcoded subtitles so that new languages can be added or a clean master can be produced; and supports removing old logos, internal review marks, and authorized watermark overlays. In addition, it offers the ability to remove an entire audio track in the browser, obtaining a silent version without uploading the video.
In terms of usage, users first select an MP4, MOV, or WebM file; selecting a file creates a preview locally in the browser and does not immediately start an upload. Then they choose Text or Watermark mode, draw a box over the area to be removed in the video preview, and can move or resize the box. Free accounts can select up to three areas, and paid plans up to ten. Before processing, they can review the selected areas, the original dimensions, and the estimated credit cost. If needed, they log in to their account, start processing, and then review and download the completed video. For moving text or watermarks, it is recommended to preview the entire clip to ensure the selected area covers its full path. After selecting a file, it is only previewed locally; uploading begins only after confirming the processing details and selecting Process.
Regarding credits and limits, after signing in with Google, new users receive 20 one-time trial credits, with no payment card required. Free accounts can process videos at original dimensions with a source short side of no more than 1080p; paid accounts can process up to 4K. Trial credits do not reset monthly and do not include batch processing. For videos with a source short side of 240p to 720p, Text, Subtitle, Caption, and Advanced Logo or Watermark cleanup cost 1 credit per second; 721p to 1080p costs 2 credits per second; 1081p to 1440p costs 4 credits per second; and 1441p to 2160p costs 6 credits per second. Basic Logo or Watermark cleanup is calculated at half the applicable rate. The estimated cost is displayed before processing begins.
PreviewRegarding retention policy, when the balance is insufficient to cover the full video and a preview is available, users can select a representative segment and mark the areas to be cleaned. The segment length can be adjusted between 0.5 and 5 seconds, and only that segment is processed. Users can compare the original and cleaned results before deciding whether to purchase more credits. The preview uses the existing credit balance and does not add extra free credits. Each account can have one in-progress or one successful preview. If processing fails, the temporarily held credits are returned and the user can retry. After the preview, users can return to the full video, and the original file and cleaning selections are retained in the browser. Full video processing is a separate task with its own credit quote, and preview credits are not deducted from that quote.
Applicable scenarios include: correcting typos or outdated text baked into a video; removing old subtitles before adding new-language subtitles to a video; creating a clean master; removing old logos or internal review marks; removing watermarks when authorization has been obtained; and removing the original audio track before replacing a video's soundtrack.
Regarding limitations, watermarks or logos may only be removed from videos that the user owns or has permission to edit, and ownership, attribution, source, safety, or legally required disclosure marks must not be removed. Moving text can only be removed if it remains within the selected area at all times, and larger selections may affect nearby details and increase the difficulty of background reconstruction. Clear backgrounds and fixed overlays are generally easier to reconstruct than fast motion, hands, faces, reflections, or fine textures. Text, Subtitle, and Caption cleaning reconstructs the selected area rather than adding a blur layer; Basic Logo or Watermark cleaning intentionally softens that area, while Advanced cleaning attempts a more natural repair, with results varying depending on motion and background detail. Uploads in MP4, MOV, and WebM formats are supported, and the source duration and resolution are checked before processing. Selecting a video, viewing the original footage, and marking cleaning areas do not require login; processing a cleaning preview or full video requires Google login. Original videos are retained for up to 7 days, free trial outputs are retained for up to 7 days, and paid outputs are retained for up to 30 days.
