Light Cloud is an application-oriented hosting platform, positioned as "host the app you just built," integrating the frontend, backend, and Postgres database in one place so that applications go live in about 3 minutes. It emphasizes no need for YAML, cloud consoles, or dedicated DevOps personnel.
Main capabilities and usage:
- Multiple deployment sources: you can connect a GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket repository, upload a folder, or initiate deployment through AI assistants such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot. The platform automatically reads the code, identifies the framework and build method, and deploys with one click. It supports React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte, Django, Go, Rails, Spring, .NET, and Dockerfile.
- Automatic deployment and rollback: after the first deployment, pushing to a branch automatically builds and releases. Each deployment retains the commit record, author, and build time, and rollback takes just one click.
- Database integration: you can create a Postgres database within the same project, the connection string is automatically connected to the application, and a built-in data browser lets you browse tables or run queries. Shared instances start at about $4 per month, and dedicated instances start at $9.
- Logs and metrics: provides CPU, memory, request count, and number of running instances for each environment, displayed alongside the real-time log stream. Idle applications can scale to zero, and the charts reflect this.
- Infrastructure: static sites go through a global CDN; containers scale to zero when idle; Postgres is deployed nearby and provisioned within the same project.
- AI assistant deployment: provides an MCP server that can be installed with one command, then in Claude Code you can ask "deploy this project to Light Cloud," and the assistant will guide registration, ask two questions, and return an accessible URL. The same MCP server also works with GitHub Copilot and Claude Desktop; the CLI can be executed from the terminal.
Use cases: developers who want to quickly get a full-stack application online, users who need one-click deployment after generating an application with an AI coding assistant, and teams that want to avoid DevOps configuration and manage the frontend, backend, and database in a single console.
Limitations and information not yet provided: the free tier offers unlimited sites and three applications, includes $1 of usage per month, and requires no credit card; typical site usage is about 1 cent per month, and after it is used up, server applications are paused and sites remainonline. Bandwidth on the free tier is up to 20 GB per workspace per month, and paid plans offer 1 TB. Paid plans start at $5 per month. Regarding more detailed billing rules, the specific benefits of each paid tier, SLA, supported database types (besides Postgres, only MySQL is mentioned in a billing example), and other such information, official materials are not yet fully available.
