Anime AI is a free online AI anime image generation tool that can be used without registration. Its core function is to convert user-uploaded photos into anime-style avatars, portraits, and profile pictures.
Purpose
Anime AI is mainly used to convert real-person photos into anime-style images, answering the question "What would you look like in anime?" Users can use it to create anime avatars, portraits, and profile pictures. In addition, it also provides a text-to-anime feature for creating original characters or scenes from scratch.
Main Capabilities
- Photo to Anime: Upload a JPG or PNG photo (maximum 5MB), select gender, and generate; results are returned within a few minutes. Gender selection is not a decorative option, but helps the model correctly understand facial structure, because anime draws male and female faces very differently.
- Multiple Anime Styles: Built on Stable Diffusion, with custom models and parameter tuning layered on top. Different styles have different degrees of resemblance to the person: styles such as Anime and Pixel are relatively close to the person; natural styles such as Fate, Classic, and Webtoon are closer to real appearance; styles such as Dragon Ball, One Piece, Family Guy, and FPE OC Maker differ greatly from the person's appearance, because the styles themselves are more distinctive.
- Text to Anime: Use text prompts to create original characters or scenes from scratch. The model understands tags better than sentences, because the training data comes from a Danbooru-style image database, in which everything is labeled with short descriptors.
- Negative Prompts: Used to tell the AI what not to generate, and can significantly reduce problems such as strange hands, blurry edges, and low-detail faces.
How to Use
Photo-to-anime workflow: upload a photo (JPG or PNG, maximum 5MB, single-person photos recommended) → select gender → generate, with results within a few minutes.
The prompt structure for text-to-anime is recommended to be divided into four layers: subject (e.g., 1girl, silver hair, blue eyes, confident expression), style direction (e.g., anime style, cel shading, Makoto Shinkai inspired), quality enhancement (e.g., masterpiece, best quality, highly detailed, sharp focus), atmosphere and scene (e.g., cherry blossoms background, golden hour, soft bokeh, warm tones).
Users can also select attributes (such as adding glasses, hats, etc.) to modify the initial photo. This is not required, but if the initial photo contains these attributes, it is strongly recommended to select them, because the AI may have difficulty recognizing attributes that are underrepresented in the anime image database.
Applicable Scenarios
Suitable for users who want to quickly obtain anime-style avatars or profile pictures, as well as users who need to create anime characters or scenes from scratch. Currently, it is recommended to upload only single-person portrait photos; multi-person or couple photos are not yet supported.
Limitations
- Photo to anime is not tracing a photo, but recreating it from scratch using the visual language of each anime style. Therefore, the result looks like genuine anime art rather than a filtered selfie, but the resemblance may drift.
- Generated photos are currently in the same format as the initial photo, at 512px × 512px. HD format is coming soon, and already generated photos will be automatically converted to HD at no extra charge.
- The anime image database has poor representation of minority groups, and some results may not be suitable for everyone or certain photos.
- Due to the nature of the infrastructure, refunds are not provided, but you can contact us for personalized generation options.
- Original photos are stored in France and are strictly governed by GDPR laws, and will be completely deleted from the server after generation is complete. Generated photos are stored indefinitely; if you need them deleted, you can contact us.
- The app is free to use.
