About this tool

[Purpose] horizOn MCP Server is the official MCP server for the horizOn Backend-as-a-Service, providing AI coding assistants with documentation, live API tools, and workflow prompts needed for game and app development. It is aimed at developers using Godot, Unity, or Unreal Engine, helping AI assistants understand and operate the horizOn backend.

[Main Capabilities] Documentation resources: A total of 18 documentation resources, provided directly by the MCP server, no API key required. Live API tools: A total of 34 tools that call the horizOn backend and require a valid API key. Some tools (such as horizon_submit_score, horizon_save_cloud_data, horizon_load_cloud_data, horizon_redeem_gift_code, horizon_get_profile, horizon_set_profile, horizon_start_run, horizon_submit_validated, horizon_get_state, horizon_upload_evidence) also require a player session: first log in, then pass the returned accessToken as the sessionToken. Tool annotations: Each tool declares MCP annotations (readOnlyHint, destructiveHint, idempotentHint, openWorldHint), making it easy for clients to distinguish read from write operations. Destructive tools include horizon_save_cloud_data (replaces save data), horizon_set_profile (replaces the entire profile), horizon_submit_validated (consumes tickets, may spend balance), and horizon_cancel_email. Read tools that return objects also declare an outputSchema and return structuredContent alongside the JSON text. Each tool description explains when to use it, which similar tool to use instead, what it returns, and how to recover from errors. Workflow prompts: A total of 4 prompts that guide AI assistants through common horizOn tasks.

[How to Use] Add the server to your MCP client configuration (such as Claude Desktop, Cursor, etc.), installing via npm. Documentation resources require no API key; live API tools require authentication.

[Management Tools (v1.2+)] After using an Account Key (which can be created in the horizOn dashboard -> API Keys -> Create -> Account Key), the MCP server exposes additional tools that allow Claude to manage the dashboard, including projects, remote config, news, email templates, gift codes, users, leaderboards, cloud save data, crash reports, feedback, user logs, SMTP, and Validated Actions (rules, runs, player values, and evidence review). Steps to obtain an Account Key: log in to the horizOn dashboard; go to API Keys in the sidebar; click Create API Key; select Account Key as the key type; choose whether the key can access the entire account, a single Project API Key, or selected feature groups; click Create, the key is shown only once, so copy it immediately; add the key to your MCP configuration. Player keys and management keys can be set together or separately in the MCP client configuration. Management tools are only registered when an Account Key is set; otherwise, the server only exposes the original player-facing tools. An Account Key inherits the account tier (FREE/BASIC/PRO/ENTERPRISE) and does not grant additional permissions. A key can be account-wide, limited to a single Project API Key, limited to selected feature groups, or both. Platform administrator-only endpoints (Blog, Banner, System-Config) are automatically unreachable. A few highly sensitive endpoints (delete account, change credentials, key management itself, cancel subscription) require a dashboard session and cannot be called via an Account Key. When a key is scoped to a project, the backend also enforces that scope in direct HTTP calls; account-level endpoints or ID-only endpoints that cannot prove project context are rejected for project-scoped keys. Management tools and player tools carry the same annotations: list, get, and stats tools are read-only, while update and delete tools are marked as destructive.

[Applicable Scenarios] Suitable for game and app development using the horizOn Backend-as-a-ServiceScenarios, especially developers who need AI programming assistants to help integrate the Godot 4.5+ (GDScript SDK), Unity 6 (C# SDK), or Unreal Engine 5.5+ (C++ and Blueprint SDK), as well as users who need to manage various features of the horizOn dashboard through an AI assistant.

[Restrictions] Real-time API tools require a valid API key, and some tools also require a player session token. Management tools are only available after setting an Account Key. The Account Key does not grant additional privileges, and some endpoints and highly sensitive operations cannot be called with an Account Key. Project-scoped keys are also subject to scope restrictions in direct HTTP calls.
