trayd-mcp is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets Claude operate Robinhood accounts, with the core goal of replacing the tedious clicking in the Robinhood app with natural language to complete portfolio analysis, quote lookups, and order execution.
Purpose: Perform Robinhood trading operations directly through the Claude interface, including viewing portfolios, getting real-time quotes, and executing buy, sell, short, batch, and ladder orders. All limit orders have the 24-hour extended trading session enabled by default; quotes are available 24/7, using Robinhood real-time data during market hours and automatically falling back to a partner quote provider after hours.
Key capabilities:
- Natural language trading: for example, "Set up 5 ladder buy orders for NVDA from $180 to $175" completes an operation that would otherwise require more than 50 clicks and about 5 minutes.
- Full trading functionality: supports buy, sell, short, batch, and ladder orders, and is not a read-only tool.
- Multi-account management: one connection can manage multiple Robinhood accounts.
- 24/7 quotes: uses dual-source pricing, so quotes can be provided even when the market is closed.
- Persistent memory (LLM wiki): Claude has a private persistent knowledge base that it can read and write, can save markdown notes about position costs, strategies, and preferences, preserved across sessions and conversations, with the user and Claude editing the same file. For example, "save my rebalancing rules," "what is my thesis on SMH," "update my watchlist."
- Scheduled automation: Claude Code's /loop command can turn Trayd into an always-on trading agent, executing on a schedule with natural language rules, with no need to write code or scripts.
How to use:
- Claude.ai (web version) - no installation required: go to claude.ai > Settings > Connectors, click Add custom connector, enter trayd as the name, enter https://mcp.trayd.ai/mcp,点击 as the URL, click Add > Connect, sign in with Google, then say "Link my Robinhood account" and approve the notification on your phone.
- Claude Code (terminal) - type /mcp, select trayd, authorize and sign in, then say "Link my Robinhood account." Both methods connect to the same account, and you can choose either one.
Security and privacy: Robinhood credentials are passed directly to the Robinhood API and are never stored; access tokens are kept only in memory and are cleared on logout, restart, or redeployment; MCP authentication uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE; each login requires Robinhood mobile 2FA, with the user approving each session on their device; the infrastructure is AWS ECS Fargate + Cloudflare Tunnel + site-wide HTTPS. The official recommendation is to verify with a test order that will not execute, such as "Limit buy 1 NVDA at $50," which is visible in the Robinhood app, can be canceled by either party, and carries zero risk.
Use cases: suitable for users who want to manage a Robinhood portfolio directly in Claude, execute complex orders (such as ladder orders and batch orders), or run scheduled automated strategies. The official figures state that 368 traders have registered, there are 160+ active users per month, and 2.4M+ MCP calls have been served cumulatively (including 2.1M+ real-time quotes and 87K+ executed orders).
