Cybertiks is an Earth observation platform that integrates satellite data, ocean models, atmospheric models, in-situ sensors, and operational records into a single platform, and transforms them into informed decisions while showing the source of each piece of data.
Purpose The platform is designed to answer questions related to Earth observation. It is not tied to a specific satellite or industry and can adapt to any phenomenon that needs to be monitored, such as the monitoring and prediction of sargassum.
Main capabilities
- Sargassum detection: detect sargassum via satellite and predict which beaches will receive its landfall within the next 72 hours.
- Multi-source data integration: supports multiple data sources such as satellites, ocean and atmospheric models, in-situ sensors, and operational records, forming a single layer of truth.
- Physical models: combine wind and ocean currents into transport models to predict where material will go, not just where it has been.
- Agentic analysis: agents query the necessary sources, reason, and deliver actionable interpretations while citing the source of every number.
- Auditable evidence: every observation is date-stamped and traceable, and can be used to support reports, claims, or accountability.
How to use
- The demo is public and uses live data.
- Accounts are opened after a meeting; there is no automatic registration. When configuring each account, the area of interest, alert frequency, and the data layers required for operations are determined together with the user.
Applicable scenarios
- Sargassum monitoring: from the origin areas in the Sargasso Sea and its southward leakage, to the westward transport of the Great Atlantic Sargassum Belt (GASB), to 72-hour landfall predictions in the Mexican Caribbean, using a Lagrangian drift model.
- Environmental monitoring and coastal management: help stakeholders understand when and where sargassum will make landfall to support decision-making.
- Research and reporting: every observation is traceable, suitable for writing reports or accountability.
Limitations
- Platform statements will state what information cannot be known from existing data, rather than filling it in with estimates.
- Model assumptions are visible, including the wind drag coefficient.
- Information on pricing, specific prices, supported platforms, or detailed usage steps is not currently provided in the materials.
