Trends-MCP is an MCP server that provides real-time trend data, allowing AI agents to query data from more than 30 sources, including Google Search, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, Amazon, Wikipedia, news sentiment, web traffic, app downloads, Steam, npm, and more, through a single MCP connection and one API key. It is compatible with any MCP-supporting client, including Claude, Cursor, VS Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Windsurf, Cline, Raycast, and others.
Main capabilities: It provides three tools. get_time_series returns weekly or daily historical data for a single source plus keyword, indexed from 0–100 when the pipeline supports it (100 indicates the peak within the returned window), and provides volume when the source has an absolute series; get_growth calculates point-to-point percentage change and supports preset windows such as 7D, 14D, 30D, 1M to 5Y, MTD, QTD, and YTD; get_top_trends returns a real-time ranking list without requiring a keyword, and on MCP type is required and must exactly match the feed name (including case).
Usage: The hosted MCP address is https://api.trendsmcp.ai/mcp，REST The endpoint is POST https://api.trendsmcp.ai/api，使用同一 Bearer key. A free key allows 100 requests per month. Claude and ChatGPT log in via OAuth; Cursor and VS Code can click the link and then enter the key from the account page. Python clients can run pip install trendsmcp. When using it, it is recommended to state "using TrendsMCP" in the prompt so that the model chooses these tools instead of web search.
Limitations: Regional/geographic breakdowns, related queries, or related topics are not supported; get_time_series cannot span multiple sources in a single call (you can use get_growth with a comma-separated source list, or call get_time_series multiple times); the MCP type must exactly match the feed name in the table and cannot be made up. Billing is calculated per request: get_time_series and get_growth are each counted as one request per source plus keyword, and get_top_trends is billed by type. Failed calls are not billed, and overage returns 429 / rate_limited. Annual payment saves 20%. Do not submit keys; the Claude.ai connector uses OAuth, and other clients use Authorization: Bearer.
