Aesthetics Wiki MCP is an MCP server that lets large language models (LLMs) search, read, and discover aesthetic content in the Aesthetics Wiki (aesthetics.fandom.com), including cottagecore, dark academia, y2k, goblincore, and thousands of other aesthetic styles.
Uses Aesthetics Wiki is one of the richest open directories of visual subcultures on the internet, but its content is usually accessible only through the web interface. This server turns it into structured tools, enabling LLMs to actually use this content. Specific uses include:
- Mood boards and visual research: pull a gallery of real reference images for any aesthetic style with a single tool call.
- Branding and creative direction: explore adjacent styles, find the right label for a certain feeling, and compare neighboring aesthetics.
- Writing and worldbuilding: get grounded vocabulary (fashion, music, motifs) instead of generic LLM vibes.
- Serendipitous discovery: random_aesthetic can be used to relieve blank page syndrome.
Main capabilities The server is powered by the MediaWiki API and requires no API key. All tools are read-only operations. According to the materials, it provides 5 tools, but the specific tool names and parameters are not yet provided.
How to use Zero configuration: it can be run directly with uvx. It requires Python 3.10+ and uv, with no need to manually install anything—uvx fetches and runs it on demand.
For Claude Code / Claude Desktop, add the corresponding configuration to the MCP configuration file (~/.claude/settings.json, the project .mcp.json, or ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json on macOS). After restarting the client, the 5 tools will appear automatically.
For other MCP clients, any client that supports stdio can be used. Simply run uvx aesthetics-wiki-mcp as the transport command.
MCP Inspector can be used for interactive testing.
