SuperAPI AI Directory

awesome-claude-skills

awesome-claude-skills is a curated list maintained by ComposioHQ that brings together over 1,000 production-ready Claude Skills and plugins for customizing Claude AI workflows. These skills are reusable instruction packages containing SKILL.md (YAML frontmatter and Markdown instructions), supported by Claude Code, Claude.ai, the Claude API, and coding agents such as Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Antigravity, and Windsurf. Skills load progressively on demand, allowing a single agent to carry hundreds of skills without bloating the context window. The list covers categories including document processing, development and code tools, data analysis, business and marketing, communication and writing, creative media, productivity and organization, collaboration and project management, security and systems, and app automation via Composio, and provides instructions for creating skills, getting-started guides, and plugin quick-start guidance for connecting 1,000+ apps (sending email, creating issues, posting to Slack, etc.).

About this tool

Purpose

awesome-claude-skills is a comprehensive, curated list of over 1,000 production-ready and practical Claude Skills and Plugins, with the goal of boosting productivity in Claude.ai, Claude Code, and coding agents such as Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and Antigravity.

Claude Skills are reusable instruction packages that teach AI agents how to handle a specific class of task. Each skill is a folder containing a SKILL.md file with YAML frontmatter (name, description) and Markdown instructions, and optionally bundled scripts, references, and assets. Anthropic introduced the format in October 2025 and released it as an open standard in December 2025; it is now supported by Claude Code, Claude.ai, the Claude API, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Antigravity, and Windsurf.

Main capabilities

Skills use progressive loading: at the start of a session, the agent sees only each skill's name and description (about 100 tokens per skill). Only when the agent determines that the skill is relevant to the current task does it load the full SKILL.md body (usually under 5,000 tokens). Auxiliary files in scripts/ and references/ are loaded on demand. It is this mechanism that lets a single agent carry hundreds of skills without bloating the context window.

Three layers of concepts need to be distinguished: Skills are not MCP servers, nor are they tools. MCP defines how agents connect to external systems (authentication, transport, tool discovery); tools are the individual functions an agent calls; skills define workflows—once the agent already has the needed connections and tools, what to do, in what order, and with which guardrails. In production, the three layers work together: MCP handles access, tools handle actions, and skills handle behavior.

Skill categories covered by the list

The list is organized into the following categories:

  • Document processing: for example docx (creating, editing, and analyzing Word documents with revisions and comments), pdf (extracting text, tables, and metadata, merging and annotating PDFs), pptx (reading, generating, and adjustingslides, layouts, templates), xlsx (spreadsheet operations such as formulas, charts, data transformation, etc.).
  • Development and coding tools: including artifacts-builder (creating claude.ai HTML artifacts using React, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui), aws-skills (AWS development and CDK best practices), Changelog Generator (generating user-facing changelogs from git commits), Chrome Relay, Claude Code Terminal Title, Connect, D3.js Visualization, FFUF Web Fuzzing, finishing-a-development-branch, Full-Page Screenshot, great_cto, iOS Simulator, jules, LangSmith Fetch, lean-ctx, MCP Builder, move-code-quality-skill, OpenWeb, overkill, Playwright Browser Automation, prompt-engineering, pypict-claude-skill, reddit-fetch, Septim Agents Pack, Skill Creator, Skill Seekers, software-architecture, subagent-driven-development, test-driven-development, using-git-worktrees, Webapp Testing, etc.
  • Data and analytics: CSV Data Summarizer, deep-research, postgres, recursive-research, root-cause-tracing, etc.
  • Business and marketing: Brand Build Skills, Brand Guidelines, Competitive Ads Extractor, Domain Name Brainstormer, Internal Comms, Lead Research Assistant, etc.
  • Communication and writing: article-extractor, brainstorming, Content Research Writer, family-history-research, Meeting Insights Analyzer, NotebookLM Integration, Twitter Algorithm Optimizer, etc.
  • Creativity and media: anydesign, Canvas Design, imagen, Image Enhancer, Slack GIF Creator, Theme Factory, Video Downloader, youtube-transcript, swiftui-design-skill, etc.
  • Categories such as productivity and organization, collaboration and project management, security and systems, and app automation implemented through Composio are likewise listed in the inventory.

How to Use

The inventory provides instructions for "Quick Start: Connect Claude to 1000+ Apps." The connect-apps plugin lets Claude perform real actions—send emails, create issues, post to Slack; it handles authentication and uses Composio under the hood to connect 1000+ apps. The steps include: install the plugin, paste the API key when prompted (a free key can be obtained at dashboard.composio.dev), restart, and try it out. If you receive an email, that means Claude has been connected to 1000+ apps.

Regarding skill creation, the inventory provides content related to Getting Started and Creating Skills, and points out that a skill is in the form of a folder containing SKILL.md (name and description in YAML frontmatter plus Markdown instructions), with optional bundled scripts, references, and assets.

Use Cases

This inventory is aimed at users who want to extend the capabilities of Claude and various coding agents, covering a wide range of use cases from document processing, the software development lifecycle, data analysis and research, to brand marketing, content creation, communication and collaboration, and security systems. For scenarios that require agents to perform real-world actions (such as sending emails, creating issues, posting messages, updating databases), the inventory providesa path to connect to 1000+ services such as Gmail, Slack, GitHub, Notion, and more through the Composio MCP Gateway and the connect-apps plugin.

Limitations

The materials do not provide specific fees, prices, or licensing information for each skill; the operation of some skills depends on external services (such as Composio, LangSmith, Gemini, etc.) and their API keys, and the relevant materials do not provide a complete dependency list or quota explanations. The actual availability and effectiveness of skills vary depending on the agent platform and configuration, and the materials do not provide item-by-item verification results.
