About this tool

FindSaunaPlunge MCP server is a Model Context Protocol server-side implementation for findsaunaplunge.com, covering cold plunge, sauna, and contrast therapy venues in major U.S. metropolitan areas. It provides venue data to clients via the MCP protocol, including details such as temperature and price, and emphasizes data traceability.

Purpose: To provide structured information about cold plunge and sauna venues in the United States for AI assistants or MCP clients, making it easy to query and display.

Main capabilities: Provides the get_data_freshness tool, which reports the current number of venues and the date each record was last checked. Every published temperature and price is read from the venue's own page and carries a source URL, collection date, and verbatim quote. A missing field means the venue has not published that detail, not that it is a zero value.

Usage: The remote endpoint https://findsaunaplunge.com/mcp uses Streamable HTTP, is stateless, requires no authentication, and has open CORS. GET requests return human-readable documentation; POST requests handle JSON-RPC. The registry identifier is com.findsaunaplunge/findsaunaplunge (domain verified). The data is the same as the CC BY 4.0 /api/v1/venues.json, archived monthly at github.com/findsaunaplunge/data, with DOI 10.5281/zenodo.22132913.

Running it yourself: The handler depends only on public data sources, so it can run in any Node 24+ environment. Both modes read https://findsaunaplunge.com/api/v1/venues.json(可通过 FINDSAUNAPLUNGE_ORIGIN override), so a self-hosted copy serves content exactly the same as the site. src/mcp.ts is the entire server: a single handleMcp(request, env) function mounted at the /mcp path of the site's Cloudflare Worker, with no dependencies. Tool results come from the static /api/v1/venues.json asset generated by the site build (fetched via the Worker's ASSETS binding and memoized per isolate), so the server cannot be inconsistent with the site, and deployments refresh automatically. server.json is the registry manifest.

Use cases: MCP clients or AI applications that need to query information about cold plunge, sauna, and contrast therapy venues in the United States.

Limitations: This repository is the public source code for the server; the site itself is not open source. The server is stateless, has no sessions, and has no server-initiated SSE; every POST is self-contained. Unknown parameters are rejected with the valid parameter names instead of being silently ignored. Nothing here is or will become paid promotion. Regarding licensing, the code is under MIT, and the venue data served by the server is separately under CC BY 4.0.
