skyagi

SkyAGI is a Python package for demonstrating the emergent abilities of large language models (LLMs) in simulating believable human behavior. It implements the idea of Generative Agents and provides a role-playing game that creates a very interesting user experience. Unlike previous AI-based NPC systems, SkyAGI's NPCs can generate very believable human reactions. The interesting observations in this demo show that there is great potential for rethinking many aspects of game development, such as NPC scripting. To demonstrate this, SkyAGI provides example characters from The Big Bang Theory and The Avengers as a starting point. Users can also define custom characters by creating a configuration file similar to customized_character.json.

About this tool

SkyAGI is a Python package designed to demonstrate the emergent abilities shown by large language models (LLMs) in simulating believable human behavior. It specifically implements the idea of "Generative Agents" and provides a role-playing game, thereby delivering a very interesting user experience.

Purpose

SkyAGI is mainly used to simulate believable human behavior and thereby build a role-playing game experience. Unlike previous AI-based NPC systems, SkyAGI's NPCs are able to generate very believable human reactions. The interesting observations in this demo show that there is great potential for rethinking many aspects of game development, such as NPC scripting.

Main Capabilities

  • Simulating believable human behavior: the responses generated by NPCs are very close to human ones.
  • Memory capability: for example, in the demo, Leonard remembers that Penny once asked him to persuade Sheldon to go hiking.
  • Story progression without human intervention: for example, Leonard changes his mind after Sheldon whispers to him, and even tries to persuade Penny to join scientific work, which shows that the agent makes meaningful progress in the story even without human intervention.
  • Highly anthropomorphic: as a user, it is difficult to tell whether there is really an AI behind the response.

How to Use

  1. Install the SkyAGI Python package.
  2. Example agent configurations need to be downloaded separately:https://github.com/litanlitudan/skyagi/tree/main/examples (pip install does not include agent configurations).
  3. You can download example agent configurations, for example Sheldon's configuration is similar to the following:
{
  "name": "Sheldon",
  "...": "..."
}
  1. Users can create a configuration file similar to customized_character.json to define custom characters.
  2. Running requires an OpenAI key. For example, if the OpenAI key is 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, then the exact command is as follows:
# 确切命令未在资料中提供,仅给出了密钥示例

Applicable Scenarios

  • Role-playing game development, especially NPC behavior simulation.
  • Rethinking NPC scripting in game development.
  • Researching the abilities of LLMs in simulating human behavior.

Limitations

  • Example agent configurations are not included in the pip installation package and need to be downloaded separately.
  • An OpenAI key is required for use.
  • The materials do not provide specific fees, prices, platform support, performance guarantees, or complete usage steps; this information is not currently provided.
