calcnook-mcp-server is an MCP server used to connect the calcnook financial calculation engine to AI agents. It enables any MCP-compatible AI agent (such as Claude Code, Cursor, Goose, Continue, etc.) to natively call financial calculation tools.
Purpose: To provide AI agents with personal financial calculation capabilities, so that they can directly perform finance-related calculation tasks during conversation or programming without leaving the current environment.
Main capabilities: The server exposes 17 calculation tools, covering compound interest, SIP/DCA recurring investments, loans, retirement planning, BMI/BMR, Islamic finance, income tax (United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India), value-added tax (VAT), End of Service Gratuity, and more. It supports 7 countries and is Sharia-compliant. In addition, the calcnook engine also provides DISCOM presets (BESCOM_RESIDENTIAL, MSEB_RESIDENTIAL, BSES_RESIDENTIAL), which can be imported directly from calcnook.countries.india.electricity_bill for custom electricity tariff tier configuration.
Usage: Zero-configuration startup via uvx is recommended, with the command uvx calcnook-mcp. When configuring AI agents, for Claude Desktop / Claude Code, the corresponding JSON configuration block can be added to claude_desktop_config.json (or MCP settings); for Goose / Continue, use the same JSON block in their respective mcp_servers configuration sections.
Applicable scenarios: Suitable for developers or users who need to add financial calculation capabilities to AI agents, for example integrating loan calculations, tax estimates, retirement planning, Sharia-compliant financial calculations, and other functions into programming assistants or conversational AI.
Limitations: The materials do not provide more information about fees, pricing, platform compatibility details, calculation accuracy, or specific usage steps, and none is currently provided.
