Prosto retro is a free, AI-powered online retrospective tool for agile teams, used to regularly review sprints or phases of work and turn scattered observations into concrete action plans.
Purpose During a retrospective, the team reviews the sprint or phase just completed: what went well, what caused obstacles, and what to change next. Holding them regularly lets the team retain effective decisions and prevents the same problem from recurring. It is suitable for any team that completes work regularly and wants to do better, including scenarios such as R&D, marketing, sales, HR and recruiting, events, teaching, and project management.
Main capabilities
- Retrospective templates: built-in Start / Stop / Continue, What went well, Mad / Sad / Glad, 4L (Liked, Learned, Lacked, Longed for), Sailboat, etc., and you can also create your own templates (custom columns, questions, and phase order).
- Anonymous cards: cards can be written anonymously, without showing the author, letting the idea itself rather than seniority determine its weight, which helps introverted members and new members speak up.
- Voting and prioritization: each person has a fixed number of votes, forcing trade-offs so that the truly important ideas surface; voting can also be anonymous.
- AI assistant: reads the cards, merges similar content into themes, and suggests wording for action plans; it does not make decisions for the team, only saves manual organizing time.
- Timing and facilitation: a built-in timer advances each phase, the facilitator can see who has finished, and phases switch in sync on everyone's screen.
- Icebreakers: the opening screen displays a question and randomly selects a participant, helping to break the ice and engage quiet members.
- Other features: team mood survey (with history), review of action items from the last retrospective, quick polls, reactions and emojis during discussion, timer music, and meeting results emailed to every participant.
How to use it A 5-step online retrospective:
- Create a room and choose a template;
- Send the link to the team—participants do not need an account;
- Open with an icebreaker to get everyone talking;
- Collect cards and group similar items;
- Vote and write an action plan.
Applicable scenarios
- R&D teams: review sprints, discover bottlenecks, and agree on improvements.
- Marketing: see which campaigns worked and adjust strategy.
- Sales: review goals and break down the reasons deals went well or badly.
- HR and recruiting: review recruiting and onboarding processes and find bottlenecks.
- Events: summarize an event that just ended and collect feedback for the next one.
- Teaching: teachers and students review how the course is actually progressing.
- Project management: review completed initiatives, whichwere effective and which were not.
Limitations
- There is no limit on the number of participants; after the room is created, the facilitator shares the link, and participants do not need an account.
- Meeting results stay in the room, and participants receive a retrospective results email.
- ProstoRetro is officially said to be free to use.
- Difference from Miro: Miro requires you to set up the board, timer, voting, and phase order yourself; ProstoRetro guides the meeting step by step, counts votes, and emails the results, and is built for the single scenario of retrospectives.
- The parts of the official text that mention comparison information about alternatives such as EasyRetro (FunRetro), Parabol, Retrium, and TeamRetro involve each product's free plan, and the specifics are subject to each product's actual terms.
