About this tool

mcp-xrpl is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for the XRP Ledger ecosystem, designed to enable AI agents to interact with the XRP Ledger blockchain. It exposes various XRPL functionalities through a unified interface, making it convenient for AI agents to discover and use these services.

Purpose

The main purpose of this server is to provide AI agents with the ability to access the XRP Ledger, supporting operations such as reading ledger state, executing transactions, and managing assets. It is suitable for AI application scenarios that need to interact with the XRP Ledger, such as automated trading, asset management, and blockchain data queries.

Main Capabilities

The server supports the following functional categories:

  • Account management: Connect to XRPL networks (MainNet, TestNet, DevNet), retrieve account information, manage account attributes, deposit preauthorization, and regular key management.
  • XRP and token operations: Transfer XRP between accounts, retrieve token metadata (name, symbol, decimal places, supply), check token balances, transfer tokens, and approve token spending.
  • NFT operations: Mint NFTs on the XRP Ledger, view NFT metadata, verify NFT ownership, transfer NFTs, and retrieve NFT collections.
  • Decentralized Identifiers (DID): Create DIDs, update DID documents, and deactivate DIDs.
  • Automated Market Makers (AMM): Create AMMs, deposit into AMMs, bid on AMMs, vote on AMM parameters, and withdraw assets from AMMs.
  • Check operations, Decentralized Exchange (DEX) operations, oracle operations (set and delete oracle data), payment channels (create, fund, claim), trust line management, and create tickets for transaction processing.

All services are exposed through consistent MCP tools and resource interfaces, facilitating AI agent integration.

Usage

Before use, the following prerequisites must be met: Node.js 18.0.0 or higher. Configuration: Create a .env file in the project root directory and set the necessary environment variables (specific variables are not listed in the materials). Start the server: The materials do not provide a specific startup command. Connect to the server: Use any MCP-compatible client to connect to this MCP server. MCP Inspector can be used for testing and debugging.

Applicable Scenarios

Suitable for development scenarios that require AI agents to interact with XRP Ledger, such as building automated trading bots, asset management tools, and blockchain data analysis applications. By default, operations are performed on TestNet to ensure development safety.

Limitations and Security Considerations

  • Wallet seeds are used only for transaction signing and should be kept secure.
  • Additional authentication mechanisms are recommended for production environments.
  • Confirmation steps are recommended for high-value services.
  • By default, operations are performed on TestNet.
  • Sensitive configurations should use environment variables.
  • This software is for educational and development purposes only, use at your own risk. Before using real XRP on MainNet, be sure to test thoroughly on Testnet.

Project Structure

The project is written in TypeScript, with dependencies including @modelcontextprotocol/sdk, xrpl, dotenv, and zod. When adding new tools, create a TypeScript file under src/transactions/, import server/server.js, define the tool using server.tool(), and import it in src/index.ts.
